It seems to be a real rifle, it's listed under rifles in the weaponsmith crafting tool (commando stuff is under special heavy weapons) and it gives rifle exp. Stats are fairly decent but the cert is still broken.

You know, I'd like to see the beam rifle as a rifleman gun, I mean, shouldn't the guns look a little more futuristic/sci-fi? This is Star Wars afterall. I think it would be a welcome addition.

We tested it after the last patch to see if they fixed it along with the republic blaster.

It gives the "you are not certified" message when equipped.

Rifle specials are usable, and if you can actually kill something with it you get rifle exp.

Its bugged. Just another rep blaster bug type.

No class has a cert to use, but it seems to be for the rifleman, its classified as a rifle, has the high ass ham costs like a rifle, and i can use all from headshot 1- strafe shot 2 with it.

Did you guys try with a Beam rifle that was MADE after the patch? Some of the old existing republic blaster didn't work, but newly crafted ones did.

Maybe there is somethign similar with beam rifles? And those there were crafted before the changes won't work, but if you get a new one... When I'm on tomorrow I'll make a Beam rifle and test it, unless I hear from someone that they alredy tested that.

Tested it here, no cert exists in any tree, or as a default cert like the republic blaster always did

Who (or what :smileyhappy gets the weapon cert for this weapon, I can make them as a Weaponsmith, i used it to see what exp i got it was rifle exp and no tree i have looked at is able to use this can someone help me please?

Commandos use them. Except on the Commando tree it's called something like Acid Beam Rifle or something similar ... it's part of the Heavy Weapons Support line.
