What is the point of duel weilding any way?
They wont let you do double damage with 2 weapons.
They wont let you shoot 2x as fast
They would double the HAM cost
Dual wielding is rather pointless in a turn based MMORPG system.
You would end up with 2 pistols is always better than 1.
Its fun in an FPS system because you can shoot from 1 weapon while reloading the other and so on.
I dont see it ever coming into the SWG to be honist.
because it looks cool
just a thought

I have a novice pistoleer character, and I never visit the pistoleer forums because I'm sick of all the threads crying about dual-wield and holster animation.
Please, please, please, let's not turn the commando forums into that kind of mess.
It'll come in time, but not for a while (they've said so themselves... certainly after CU). The thing about dual (not duel) wielding is that in pretty much every game, it does more damage, but is far less accurate (which makes sense) unless you're a complete pistol specialist. It's pretty easy to put in actually, just look at how they did it in KOTOR and it'd work just fine here.
Hey, I've signed at least a couple of those petitions. ![]()
The original one is no worse than the tank thread. ![]()
Besides... what pistoleers really need is twirly Jango Fett-esque pistol holsteringmove that has a 5% chance of shooting yourself in the foot.
(more if you aren't a master...)
In all honesty I kinda gave up on that forum though, there's only so many directions you can go with pistoleer, and none of them have possibilites as remotely as interesting (and potentially as flexible) as commando does. The most radical thing there is the possibility of specials being unique and changing dodge animations in the CU (as well as making pistols actually worth something I might add... stupid AR1 being worthless on anything tough).
But frankly, we are hardhitting fellas, and I rather take accuracy over the little extra damage that dual wield pistols will give. If they are gonna make somewhat realistic (balance?), they will lower the accuracy a little bit when dual wielding, or limit it to a few pistols only.
but it should only apply to only a few weapons.
and only use akimbo attacks only.
