Shahadet-Yokatsu,,

agreed on the 100% resist statment you made at the opening of the post...assuming that ALL the DOT's for ALL the professions are adjusted likewise --- Pistoleer, Rifleman, Carbineer and Bounty Hunter bleeds.

I need a reason to use my acid rifle....

This is what I think was originally intended for the different damage types for different weapons.

sooooooooo in other words your 100% heat resistant pet can sayyyyyy fly through the earths core, fly through a rangeing forest fire, fly into the heart and through the heart of the sun.... man you should rent him out to the firefighters, he would be really handy! listen you brain dead freak of nature. Fire and Heat are 2 very diffrent things, you can have Heat without Fire but you can't have Fire without Heat. You can make a Fire thats 3000 degrees at its core but room temp 2 feet away. You can have 8000000000 degrees heat without a single flame in sight. Your Mynock may be able to stand the heat but he cannot and I repeat canNOT live through haveing liquid fire sprayed on his freaking body got it? Napalm burns EVERYTHING. It melts steel it turns diamonds to goo it destroys AT STs it can burn your pathetic pets. NOTHING in ANY world is 100% immune to FIRE (NOT HEAT! FIRE YOU STUPID IGNORANAMOUS) Fire isn't breathable, its not matter, its not liquid, its not gas, its energy, energy which is a base ingrediant in every planet formed, in every suns source of heat and light, in every corner of the universe. NOTHING is immune to this cosmic force. And no theres no such thing as magma monsters on the planet murcury. This mynock may be able to live in a volcano cave, so long as he doesnt go for a swim in the magma.

Its a fire based life form it thrives in fire and heat!. This is star wars not real life. Its like the star wars version of the phoenix. REMEMBER this is fantasy.

If the flamethrower is supposed to be able to hurt everything and be the end all by all of weapons why dont we all just run around with them.

lol from the way you commandos are talking all high and mighty you guys deserve to be nerfed. Lets see how much smack you talk when you guys are once again on the bottem of the food chain.

I look forward toreading to your flames on the CH forumonce you are nerfed and getting owed by kreetles again.

Nitewolf why is it that if you shoot my 100% heatresist pet with justregular fire "magma" it does no damage? I thought you said that since your gun is a walking volcano magma sprayer that it hurts everything, but if you dont do your special you do nothing against my pet, explain that dumbass.

You're just an ignorant powergamer, end of story.

Its called Lok, its where they grow up. Where there are acid rivers every 200 meters pretty much.

90% of you commando's are ignorant power gamers that want to be effective with every weapon against every opponent. Something IMMUNE to heat should not be HARMED by heat. It's called variety, you guys need it in spades.

There you go again with that immunity abillity again. Dispite nightwolf180s slightly flameing post he has a valid point. Unless these Sulfur Pool Mynocs lives in and breaths magma(Or the equiliant) I dont see it as acceptable that they are immune to the effects of a Flame Thrower, but I agree to the fact that they are highly resistant or immune to the effects of intense exposures to Heat.

So please feel free to provide some background material of the Sulfur Pool Mynocs about the fact that they live in the acid pools of Lok, and not just near them. Or an explanation of their supposed immunity to fire/magma/flame thrower effects/or similare effects.

This is the only material I could locate in a short time spent on searching for mynoc related background material.

-----------
Scattered throughout the galaxy, the mynock's home-world is unknown, but they derive their name from their supposed world of origin, Ord Mynock.

Mynocks, like plants, are nourished by stellar radiation. Their black leathery surfaces are well suited at absorbing electromagnetic radiation. They ride the stellar winds by unfurling their wings.

Mynocks also feed on silica and other minerals for the purposes of reproduction. The creatures are asexual, reproducing through fission once enough raw material has been absorbed and metabolized.

These silicon-based lifeforms can only exist in the vacuum of space, and find planetary atmospheres fatal. A number of variant mynocks have been discovered, however, that not only can survive planetfall, but also reproduce via larval forms.
-----------

-----------
Mynoc is simply a derivation of the ancient Indian word for bird

Yeah, they should fixDOTs so they're effected by resists and armor.

That being said, why post this here? It's not a commando-specific problem. Are you just looking for a fight? I guess you got one.

Here is what I see....

Your creature / pet/ love slave has a 100% resistance to Heat (FWG5)

The flame thrower / magma cannon / one eye'd yogurt slinger does flame damage not heat. Problem?

I think your pet is not what you think it is.... even if it can swim in the public acid pool.

At this point I want to critize the kiddies in this group that I joined yesterday but Im going to refrain...

Shahadet-Yokatsu, what you are dealing with are 50% commandos and 50%flavor-of-the-monthwho long for the power, but not the downsides.

Reading the thread one can distinguish

Seems like the bleeds need to be brought in line with the resists.

No more soloing reds by everyone with a bleed skill.

For a CH (the most overpowered and needing to be nerfed profession in the game) to complain about ANY other profession is just crazy.

What the hell has gotten into the Commando's? Has the power gone to your head? I'm a Commando and I think what Shahadet is saying is exactly right. How can you say that a creature that's 100% resistant to heat, which I read as IMMUNE, can take any form of fire damage? Fire is the essenceheat. Flame retardant suits don't go up in flames and that's because they're basically immune to fire.

Step off the high horse for a second and take a look at this from a different angle. We are not the be-all and end-all. We have our weaknesses and the Flamethrower isn't an "any situation" weapon. I'll definetly agree that if the Fire DoT is changed then so must all the bleeds as they're in the same boat.

Settle down.

Simple: Fix DoTs to where they take into account the resists of the creature/armor.

This is an issue with DoTs as a whole, not with flamethrowers or commandos. Please trollelsewhere. Thank you.
