one of the big ones is remembering to drink water- if ya havent heard that enough. in the cold its eally easy to forget and become dehydrated, and then you end up in a world of hurt. keep moving has been one that people have repeated, and is also true, the key is to find something to do. digging/improving fighting holes always worked best for me. layers for insulation is another important one.

I even feel the cold from here.
Keep your toes warm.
If it helps 5 of my friends got frostbite during our Viet Nam survival training exercise. It was only zero at the time.
Good jungle training Huh?
Try either a little (or is it a lot-I forget) of JD's old NR 7 or a some Granddad.
(Marines I knew used to drink AquaValva when they got in nasty situations)

I live in Saskatoon, Canada. It is -28 deg C right now.... about -20 F.
And freezing drizzle, what the hell is that about?
I also hate the cold.

In Desert Storm, we took a case of orange juice, sugar, yeast, a five gallon container, a condom, and brewed some pretty potent stuff. Tasted like champaign. That was the first and last time I'd ever drink during combat. I told my guys to get rid of the stuff after the previouse night of laughter and stupidity. I could imagine what would have happened if we got attacked...

Gotta give the boys credit though...they traded the remainder of it to the WM's. Didn't ask what they got in return!
OH! BTW, Aqua Velva is NO GOOD unless you filter it through bread first...
Slainte to the silly Jarheads!

Make friends with the cooks, I taught MWHS-373 how to make whiskey in the desert.
