The master level flame thrower.. plasma is it? I was wondering if it looked any differnt. Something tells me it's gonna be the same old thing but I was thinking how bad ass it would be if it gushed out blue flames instead of the normal flames.

Either that, or you could have it shoot a giant plasma ball/beam that's a gigantic bright, white glowing ray/ball/stream.

Plasma is the fourth and rarest form of matter(really it is. I read it in my science class). The color is a dark red according to Metroid Prime, but I'm not sure what it really is. Dark red or blue flames would be cool.

Yep, plasma is the fourth state of matter (yes, state, solid, liquid, gas, plasma), and is used in fusion reactions (like in a star). It's EXTREMELY HOT. I don't think plasma has a defined color though, since potentially any element or compound could become plasma.
As for green, no, I didn't ever play much of Quake III. I just... think of it as green.

I think the closest thing to plasma visually would be a nuclear explosion from a hydrogen bomb (I think?), which I think would be something so bright it'd blind you, hehe. This is why I suggest the bright-white (with maybe a slight tint of red/orange and the fringe).

due to multiple forms of plasma based on whatever the plasma is coming from, its just superheated gas basically i think blue would definetly be cool. also Star Wars doesnt follow RL physics at all the explosions in space should tell you that enough lol.
and for the bunsen burner question....
when using a properly mixed burner there are two cones of blue flame that should appear, if it is red or orange in any way it is not being mixed properly. the outer cone is a ligher blue while the inner more stable cone is darker and more consistent. the hottest part is right at the tip of the inner darker cone where it comes to a point and meets the upper half of the outer cone. between them and acetone thats the only reason chem lab is any fun

Yes plasma isn't that different to Gas. It's just much hotter (it's like gas evaporating to plasma like water evaporates to gas).
Though, Star Wars does actually follow science pretty well (better than Star Trek at least).
I'd say a wave of bright gas (very bright white with a slight blue or green tint perhaps, it would have to be a plasma that exists in Star Wars lore). Although if we wanted to screw continuity, i'd make it a charged stream of blue kinda like the particle beam cannon but thicker and more irregular with perhaps a visual element of a magnetic field directing the beam (rather than the plasma just escaping and destroying everything around it).
Or it could be like the green fusion mortar in Tribes.
