This is all correct partially. The blue part is considered the hottest part but i have also heard that the very tip top of the flame where it comes to gether in a point is the hottest as well. Dont know which is right and possibly both are.

way to go acaru, the hottest part of the flame is actually ABOVE the blue part. It's so hot it just distorts the air, there is no colour to it. That's the hottest part, but shooting out invisible flames wouldn't look as cool as blue so i'm gonna push for blue flames and a new looking weapon

Though when I think plasma, for some reason, I think green. Not that ugly green spread spitting from the acid rifle, but like, green fire.

White is the hottest color for everything. But we can't really see it unless it has a material state (such as melting metal). Think star color, red is coldest, blue is hot, white is hottest.
Plasma = a hot ionized gas. Think nuclear fusion, plasma is unstable andinteracts with it's surroundings (destroying things)to stabalize itself. Plasma gases can only be contained by a magnetic field environment.
They produce light by the electrons moving around the atomic structures. They don't last very long when out of containment so i'd imagine plasma out of a weapon would be seen as bright (light)gas before doing its damage.

Saw it shot early this morning. The attack looks the same as the regular FT from live. Sorry to burst your bubble on that one. But at least it looks like a flame, not like the RL and the low end FT. The RL shoots acid and the FT shoots red blaster bolts.
Ohh and as a side note, the knuckler gives out 1-handed xp, and the acid rifle and proton rifle give out rifle xp. How in the world the devs got this wrong is anyone's guess.
