I agree completely Hadriann. Art isn't the issue. How does the weapon work, does it hit frequently enough, does it do enough damage, does it make us the heavy damage dealers on par with Riflemen and Swordsmen in DPS? Those are the issues to deal with.

I'll take a brick that shoots fuzzy pink lint balls if it will hit and hurt my target!

But we're not running around in bunny suits. People are talking like the PT looks like a plastic floppy hammer or something. Looks Star Warsy enough for me.

Sure, it would be nice if they would make a different looking weapon, but im just happy that weve got it, and that it works (hopefully). At this point i would hope that SOE will be trying to work out the bigger issues of the CU than the look of our new flamer.

The black and fire idea... I think we should have Weapon Customizing Kits

/agree. I would like something a bit better in look.

It would be nice to have som differentiation though, so you can tell what folks are using at a glance. That's why I recomended making it chromed, kinda like the metal DL44 vs the DL44, you know which one is better because one is shinier!

Besides, I don't think it would be that much work to re-color/tint the FT's skin for the plasma FT.

Well, i suppose your right, if it were only a color change then it would be easy, and enhance the "strategic" element of combat.

We just need to prioritize. The art has not been our problem for the last 2 years. It's been the game mechanics where nothing worked like it should. If SOE focuses on getting it to work right this time, then the art aspects can be dealt with later. The game LOOKS great. It doesn't WORK great. That's what I am putting as my first priority for the CU.

I agree that priority is functional first. But art team and functional team are two different groups. One isnt going to be neglected because of anothers priority. So the art team can work full blown on a plasma thrower with a plasma tank pack and impliment it while the funtional team works on stats and such.

A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

Here is a simple easy graphics solution to create a new plasma flamer look, ready?

do a color invert on it, lights become darks and darks become lights, and bingo you have a new looking flamer.

I was thinking maybe for the plasma thrower, it could have a different gun look and actually change the look of your pack to that of a napalm tank or in this case a plasma tank, and add a tube running from the pack to the gun. So it would look more like a real flame/plasma thrower rather then a gun with a tiny tank on the bottom. It would be a temporary skin to the backpack (or maybe they could add the plasma tank pack as a new backpack type) while the gun is equiped.

And this gives me an idea, I really like the idea of having a plasma tank on all the time that doubles as a back pack. And also perhaps a perminent little flame in the front of the flame thower that glows slightly.

Here's the problem with that statement...Plasma (in this case)is energy. It's like the plasma in the sun or in a fusion reactor. Not your blood plasma. It is not like naplam or liquid petro. The backpack idea will only work for the stock flammer not a plasma rifle.

Not to mention that art hasn't been our strong point either. To this day, they never did fix the HAR cone effects.
