I currently have a M. Commanod, M. Rifleman on another server, can't transfer him, ( glowy) and I like the damage output with rifleman but I'd like to have a little better melee defense's.


I'll be starting on Starsider shortly with another character.








Master Commando / Master Smuggler is my template on Shadowfire. Great support profession in PvP. Smuggler root and snare combined with Commando AoE is an awsome crowd control combo.

I think I'm going to go MCommando/MDoc or MCommando/MCM. I really enjoy the healing. For some reason though, I really want to master ID first. When I discovered I can id myself it kinda peaked my interest.

Well, I've gotten stuck on my temp again lol. If I go Master Commando/ Master Carbineer/ Rifles 0-4-0-0, then I can get tons of FS boxes, but then I won't have a root attack...like I actually use them that much lol.


Some templates I've been considering (all already have MComm in them, won't list it in there):



  1. Master Carbineer, Combat Medic 4-0-0-0

  2. Master Carbineer, Pistols 0-4-0-4 (classic hehe)

  3. Master Carbineer, Squad Leader 0-4-0-0

  4. MBH, Squad Leader 0-4-0-0 (great defence here)

I can always change since most of them are so similar, just depends on what the guild needs

I'm gonna try to play, Not going master commando though


probably MSL plus doc 4/0/0/4 and as much commando as I can pick up.

Yep I can testify to that,


Smuggler is now all pistol and combat XP. Concussion shot will soon be a real mez that stops all activity for 30-40 secs that will break on damage. So do not take Smuggler because you want to use it as a root.

To be viable in PvP do I have to be lvl 80? I prefer to keep my ent abilities as well as MC.

The three templates I'm looking at are


1) Commando/Squad Leader/Bounty Hunter x4xx( for Critical shot) The main point of this is for squad leader bonuses


2) Commando/Creature Handler/Bounty Hunter x4xx (aslo for critical shot) The main point of this is killign stuff with pets lol


3)Commando/Smuggler/Pistoleer 44x4 The main point of this is crowd control AOE Root (stopping shot) and disarming shot


Which is best for the guild?

My guess would be that Squad leader will be a pretty rare choice, so I guess that would be the best in terms of the guild, but from what I hear, it won't be such a great combination for you. Hopefully I'm wrong since I think a Commando/Squad leader would be a cool character. Then again, If you have critical shot, you'll be able to do damage, and if you're in a group (which you should be if you're a SL), being slightly underpowered shouldn't be a problem.

Main will probably be commando/ranger 0040/ BH 0430 or some harvesting template for the following Chef/BE alt or some other useful crafting proff for the guild

I'm also looking at Master Commando/Master Carbineer. My Eclipse toon is master carbineer, and I've found ti to be an very useful profession. I just don't know what I want to do with my left over skill points.

I'm well known for odd templates but they always end up working damn fine for me.



My template is multi-purpose:


Master Commando


Pistoleer 4402


Novice Smuggler


Fencer 0004


Swordman 0030



This gives me access to:



-Debuffs:


Binding Strike (Fencer) - reduces target action regeneration


Burst Shot (Pistoleer) : Reduces all regeneration rates


Disarming Shot (Pistoleer): Delays enemy next attack (extremely effective when spammed with a launcher pistol)


Warning Shot (Pistoleer): Reduces target's defenses by -80 points. Or aka, increases your damage by 10%


Advanced Armor Break (Swordman): increases your damage done to target by about 50%.



-Crowd Control (2 roots that can be cycled)


Stopping Shot (Pistoleer): 18 second root


Concussion Shot (smuggler): 20 second root



Damage:


Bleed Attack (Fencer): a 100 pnt bleed on target

Sword Flurry / Head Hit (swordman) : for when im bored enough to go up close and personal

Improved Body Shot (Pistoleer): medium/high damage attack

Fan Shot (Pistoleer): Perhaps my only working AOE damage special.. *sigh*



Stats of this combination:

Level: 80

General Ranged Defense: 140

General Melee Defense: 180

General Ranged Accuracy: 160

General Melee Accuracy: 105

General Melee Speed : 20

General Ranged Speed: 40


Relevant Proff-specific stats that stack to the above:

Heavy Weapon Defense 50

Heavy Weapon Accuracy 55

Heavy Weapon Speed 45


One Handed Weapon Speed 45

One Handed Accuracy: 90


Pistol Defense 30

Pistol Speed 45

Pistol Accuracy 40



This Commando lacks high damage specials, but in the end it ends up being more effective in 1-1 than high damage templates as armor break+bleed+fire dot+debuffs (especially the action regen one) boost the damage done by the commando by 60% avg and reduces the overall ability of the target to fight back by about 40%.



And there'd be no sweeter sight than a commando coming in on target, whipping out an ultrafastvibroblade, armor break, action regen debuffand bleed target, switch to rocket launcher, kd and root at the same time, back off switching to flamethrower, put fire dot in and switching to a higher dps pistol than the plasma flamer (sigh...or IF they fix the proton rifle then proton rifle) and debuff the heck out target then proceed to shoot it down.
