Thread: Just a warning to you Commandos....
Its own class? Like Grenade xp that has cropped up in some opinions (that were also noncommando)? Nothing takes Grenade xp...so it would just be a waste. The main reason why grenades were nerfed to hell (not only with timers, they got a major damage reduction during Beta) was because of this grind and potential for further abuse. Even if grenades were given HW xp, the ability to have a powerful weapon that can be thrown quickly would and will generate a lot of experience anyways, just like groups are doing now. To ever see powerful grenades, the xp (group system) would have to be dramatically altered or conversion rates bumped a bit to deal with the infalation anyways.
Now with group xp, I was helping a commando grind (took her 2 days) on Dantooine and in those span of two days I was able to cap not 1, but 4 different xp's 3 times in a matter of maybe 5-8 hours total. HW xp, Pistol xp, Carbine xp, and Combat xp...
That was 660k FS xp total in just a few hours of grinding, half a tree's worth. Now with the combat conversion thats 480k. Now, if group xp was changed...this number would go down considerably for the same timespan of grinding, and who knows - maybe they raised the conversion to compensate until they can finish developing the new group xp system that was pulled, and normal conversion will follow afterwards?

I agree 300%.
Agreed 1000%

I do agree that nades should be heavy weapon xp, or its own class, and the weapon itself should get a lot of love. Having the ability to blowout the combat xp line in any profession in under an hour is unbalanced, and it urks my why they would leave this ability in the game while removing it from FS grinding.
On all thing Force related being bad?... My city is one of the largest in the galaxy, and of the active characters remaining.. 3/4 are Jedi, jedi alts, jedi alt acounts, or really far in the FS grind. I logged in earlier (around 10pm) to my crafter and found ZERO people online on his friends list of 79. I honestly haven't updated this friends list in a long time because I don't spend much time on this character, but I do know that a majority of them quit, or have lost interest and do not play much. Reason is primarily the CU, and has nothing to do with Jedi or anything 'Force related.' One played asked an offhand question on vent a few weeks after the CU.. "how many of you would be playing if they took jedi out of the game." The first person answered.. "Gone in a heartbeat.", and 20 or more people echoed in agreement of that statement. The worst thing to happen to this game is the only thing keeping it alive.
The hatred spewed by the few is nothing but a convenient ploy to redirect blame away from where they should be placing it, and is the worst thing to happen to this game. Thank you...
Tell me what good have the overabundance of Jedi, the constant patch AND publish DEDICATION to Jedi while many have remained un-revamped, the Jedi DOMINATION of the GCW-that-is-supposedly-taking-place, having an Alpha Class... what good has come of these? Or, how about: The Hologrind, the stupid Village that the Emperor or Vader can't detect so the Imperial Navy can't bombard it from orbit, the total sellout to the path to Jedi.
I also recall that the devs put out a poll in the month or two before "The Cataclysm Of Publish 9," which asked which would be preferrable: A completely mysterious path to Jedi, or a known, set path. The known set path obviously won with the Prequel-fanbois. Then they found out it was just another "Hologrind" in a sense. Then they complained of even this known path. Hilarious stuff, I tell you.
All this while Smugglers don't Smuggle since the beginning, Creature Handlers being Nerfed MORE than a year ago and haven't recovered ever since, the usefulness of Rangers remaining on the fringe of SWG society, and then there's us Commandos. Commandos being... well, taking the Commando treatment.
There was a time, even with the borked, heavily slanted Pre-CU Combat System, that there was a VERY active GCW. Bestine vs Anchorhead. Constant fighting in Theed and Coronet. Nowadays, victory in the GCW is achieved with complying with this single question: Bring the most Jedi.
As for the question of "how many of you would be playing if they took jedi out of the game," the answer for me is simple. I would still be here, celebrating. Then it'll be time to go back "Overt" / Spec.Forces again like in the Old Days. I would still be here, despite the fact I have access to the Village and have capped my XPs for eons without exchanging for Schwartz-Sensitive Points. Well, I had to grind XPs back from changing my template at least 3 times in the last 2-3 months since the CU (which is great, IMO). If it ever happens that the Jedi disappear (which will never happen), I'll find the first Overt Rebel I can find and we'll have a BBQ over at Obi-Wan's house. Throw a big party and call it a 24 hour truce, for tomorrow, we'll be "Overt" again, like in the Old Days.
As for changing Grenade XPs and Nerfing Grenades... the Jedi and the wannabe grinders need to BACDAFUCUP! Thanks to the problems presented by all-things-Schwartz-related, Grenades took a needless kick to the nuts. Thanks grinders, really! Thanks! They don't need to mess with Grenades in a harmful way anymore. The devs got wiser and tweaked the blasted Force system, and NOT nerfing the normal profession itself.

aye, it is the root of all problems it seems

Yall may wanna have a peek at the FS forums, they are screaming to nerf nade XP because of the 30:1 xp trade change. Seems they are rather unhappy and want nades nerfed to near no xp. Just letting you know to keep your eyes open, glowy folks are a sneaky lot!
Hmm. Glowy folks. Yeah...
I barbequed a few of them....
But it's remarkably tough. Grenades are a laughable thing. If they are going to completely destroy them, why not give us a "Commando Item Use" tree to replace grenades and give us some freakin' glowsticks.
Oh, and I'm not upset about the Entertainer thing... or the Twi'Lek have no advantages anymore thing... or the mano a mano BH against full template jedi thing, because I like burning people with glowsticks whapping me upside the head....
Don't get me wrong. I'm grinding FS. But I have 7 trees I want to enhance my Commando/BH mods to the point where I can actually, maybe, COMPETE with an elite combat profession. Since those two aren't.

You wouldn't be alone in that.
Hell, if Jedi were removed, I'd finally shell out the money for a second account.
"We're full aware of...their misgivings, and besides there's hardly anything left to nerf if the devs "listen" to their pathetic cries...like this one:
"/sign FIX THE PROBLEM NOT THE SYPTOMS. Nade nerf would've done just fine. I never used that exploit."
Glowy folks may be sneakier, but commandos are sneakier "
Hmm, first of all thanks for quoting me without any context or clarification. Second, I am sympathetic and understanding of your profession. Third, In another life/account I used to be a commando.
So with that being said I have THIS to say. STOP BEING SO DAMN HATEFUL. You guys sound like a pack of wild dogs, and pretty ignorant too.
A nerf wouldn't mean NERF EXP so Commando can be WORSE off than it is. Matter of fact Nades should be MORE powerful, and commando should be THE ONLY one's who can use them. That way Commando can have some of the power back, and everyone else can stop using this exploit without hurting the combat conversion.
So calm down a bit and use your brains. SHEESH

But if what they had done was that commandos could only use them would be that commando would be the new FOTM
Well, I'm getting off my point here. My point is, people shouldn't start a thread with Nerf Grenades and not expect Commandos to get riled up. Also, they shouldn't go changing it to "Change Grenade XP to Heavy WEapons XP" halfway through without even admitting their oversight. I think it's this attitude that really gets on our nerves as Commandos.
As for the comment about me hateing commando: I used to love it before CU. Though I changed before CU to play something else, I don't see any reason to come back to it. I think you just have a problem with your self. Don't assume that everyone hates you or what you are.
I'm not appologizing for anything. Nades were the catalyst, they were an exploint that I did NOT use, and now we(players like me who didn't use it) are paying for it. The FS grind is increased by this, and it was planed, but like I said this exploit was the catalyst.
Good try on the hate though, you very "sneaky" about that sort of thing.
