Refer to my stickied post about Commando not being the gods of PvP.

In a BEST CASE scenario (i.e. 0 armor 0 resist non moving target) Commando loses. HARD.

The DPS of a commando is best only on a 0 armor 0 heat resist target. From there out it's massively downhill.

Unless you train Pistoleer to use the LP, but really why train past novice commando to use it?

Why train any tree but flame as it's the only one that remotely works right?

And since you can't toss grenades / fire consumables inside (has this been fixed yet?) what good are they in dungeons?

And unless they fixed the bug with AP bonuses (did they?) what good are they? Rocket launcher is supposed to add 195% bonus to a non armored non resist target. But it doesn't.

"I actually wouldn't expect armor peircing from flamable fuel, acid rifle maybe."

It's not a matter of what's logical given our proffession as it is, it's a matter of class balance. Even TKA have a non-consumable weapon with AP. My main point was that we lack any non-consumables with AP, and this severely hurts the proffession both PvE and in PvP.

"The costs on radiant aren't that bad, these are very fun to use."

True, they can be fun; however, I consider having to pay 20k per 30 uses or so of a HPBC on Corbantis to simply not be worth it, particularly given that after I attack a target the first time they charge and I can't use them any more if I hope to hit the target. The biggest problem I personally have with them right now is the fact that you have no idea how accurate your shot is going to be until it's already on it's way, so you basically have to guess and check with firing to determine optimal range.

"This I find hilarious. Especially with proton grenades sliced for damage, but I only use grenades in groups for the wow effect. Usually my flamer can dispatch my targets faster than I can fling grenades."

It's still true though, check out the proton grenade's ideal range. Crazy stuff there... I'm thinking that this will probably be addressed soon though, as per many suggestions as to how to resolve this that have been floating around recently (such as increasing their accuracy and range to be more similar to that of CM grenades.)

"Are you guys talking about pvp mostly or things that shouldn't be solo'd like Krayts?"

Both. The biggest problem with big game is that, while you're not intended to solo them, it becomes a problem when you do next to nothing to help a group fight them. I could easily burn several hundred thousand credits if I were to try and help a group take down a Krayt right now, since I'd have to use consumables - this is unfairly being pushed upon the proffesion as no other class has to deal with their only AP weapons being so costly (not to mention they can at least tell theit accuracy before firing.)

This isn't about being able to solo, this is about being able to do any damage at all to critters CL 60+, because what it boils down to is that as soon as something gets any armor rating, heat, or acid resistance, we're totally hosed when fighting it- no other combat proffesion has to deal with that, except maybe pistoleer (albeit, to a lesser extent since they at least have AP1)

And it occured to me as I was laying on my back looking at the sky watching the guy I just burned (no initial hit) heal himself till the burn went away then meditate the wounds off. Im glad there wasn't a fireblanket around to help him. At least he felt uncomfortable for a little bit.

Truth of the matter is that if I wan't to get something accomplished rather quickly I switch over to tk. Commando dot's and specials just take up too much time. Accuracy just isn't enough to hit half the time. And the lack of any useable ap on the only weapon that is worth it in the entire profession limits it's use drastically. And lets not include the range issue either. Sure damage is massive initially. But is it really worth it over time?

I'm beggining to believe some of my friends who were master commandos. The profession is a waste of skill points for the most part. And I did happen to use the heavy acid rifle in pvp today and was rather dissapointed about the damage caused on an armored target.

Think its time to go back to carbineer. I had some problems hitting defense stackers and ham is insane. But at least I could cause some damage if I played my character right.

I still don't see where you guys are comming from. I can honestly say I don't partake much in pvp, but I can say i've won 80% of all the duels I've been part off. And I only started using comp armor after the geonosian cave came out. So i've duel tka's, tkm's, bh's and a few other classes with no armor, usually no buff and i'll win.

I have no reason to look at damage over time, since most of the things I fightsolo or in group don't last long enough. Even Geonosians with their high fire resist and medium armor get hit for full amount of initial flamer hit. The enhanced kwi's are a problem but everying has problems with those, so we take em in groups, no problem.

All i'm missing is:

Give the HAR AP1

Give me back the use of my Heavy Support Weps

Give me a grenade launcher for my grenades and i'm happy

That's pretty much how it is, if they get within range. The second you bring armor and buffs into the equation though you can kiss any chance of victory good-bye. In the GCW it is rare to find anyone without excellent armor, and even rarer ro find an unarmored oponent that will get anywhere near a commando.

Trust me when I say that commando seems powerful at first, but then when you go and try pretty much any other elite combat proffession, you see just how much it is lacking.
