Thread: Gunfighters will have to prepare for the big Nerf as we did soon, haha.
Mastering 2 base classes to get BH is no amazing feat and getting master commando is the easiest of the 8 professions I've mastered.
I totally disagree with you on this one...Ok, maybe they are easy for you...but think about what you are saying...that's like saying Mastering Commando is much easier then mastering Marksman...ummm...excuse me...You have to Master Marksman to get to Commando...and beyond that you have to Master Unarmed...those other professions have a straight line to their goal.
Fine...let's not argue about what's hard to master and what isn't...let's look at skill points...The professions that require the most Skill Points to master should DEFINITELY have an advantage over others...so for that matter, I think Bounty Hunter SHOULD be one of the strongest professions...I don't care how hard other professions are to grind...not matter what profession you pick, someone out there will say its the "easiest " one they ever had to Master. And I'm not talking about Dabbling...I'm talking Mastering a profession...Should a Master Pistoleer be MORE powerful then a Commando...No...Should a Master Riffleman be more powerful then a Bounty Hunter...Heck No!...I don't care what you put your extra skill points left towards...
Dabbling shouldn't "even" things out or prevent 1 shot kills...it SHOULD be used to create a useful strategy...Like a Master Commando who puts his extra skill points into TKA...Commandos get the 2.5x melee bonus damage just like ranged professions (even though they have to use specials at close range, 16m or less). Add TKA to the mix and a Commando can gain some serious Melee Defense to help ease that effect...Same with other professions...they can dabble to counter act the "one-shot" kills...Stay more then 16m from a Commando and they can't put a Burn dot on you for example...or fight them near on just in water...burn dot will be null'd. But if your not near water, and you let me get withing 16m, then by all means, I should be able to burn you down...if you don't think this is fair for Melee fighters, well they can hit Commandos much faster...and do a 2.5x damage bonus...doesn't typically take more then a few shots to get a Commando incapp'd if you know what your doing...
Before sharing your opinion, think about what it takes to get a 1 shot kill in any profession...I bet there are some good strategies (like what I mentioned above for Commandos) that could counter it...so yes...certain professions absolutely should be much more powerful then others...but it's all in how you use those skills...
First, I am appauled at the commando's that are laughing at another professons Nerf problems. I recall how Pissed you ALL were that all these professions were laughing at us due to our last nerf. You should know how it feels and avoid inflicting the same ill feelings on other's. What you should be doing is supporting the other classes against the Nerf instead of supporting the Nerf itself. This "NERF" and "STEALTH NERF" activity by the DEV's is inexcusable and the continuance of this action defies logic and reason. Especially within this game that is NOT designed to be equal. If you need a first shooter game go find one, the "NERF HERDERS" are ruining this game and the Dev's are letting them. And YES, I am a Master Commando from the begining.
Gentlement and Ladies, this is a "WAR" game. The strengths and weaknesses of each class are suppose to be exploited (lack of a better word) as a team working together to defeat a common enemy depending on which side you support. Take a close look at the structure of this game. You are suppose to be acting as a unit not an individual and the fact that you can't kill alone is irrelevant in the scheme of a war. Each profession adds it's own particular strength and weakness to a group of professions and as such are suppose to work together to create a dynamic and powerful entity.
Dev's, stop the darn Nerfs and Stealth Nerfs and force players to play the game as it was intended instead ofaccording to the cries of those to lazy to play within their respected professions. This is war, not boxing!
My example was in regards to you stating that obtaining Rifleman is just as hard to obtain as Commando, if not harder...you ridiculous comparison that Commando is one of the easiest professions to Master...It takes more xp and skill points (and therefore more time) to go from novice anything to Master Commando then to Master Rifleman...And any profession could be termed as "easy" by someone...I don't care what tricks people know or how easy you can grind it out...more xp is more xp...A Master Rifleman can then enhance his skills with other talents that will round him out...TKA for example has great ranged defensives and does serious damage to a Commando...shot the Commando from far away, then when the commando runs up to 1 shot kill the person (supposedly) with Flame2, hit him unarmed...he'd go down quick...The Commando would be lucky if he got the shot off, and if he did, he'd die before his opponent....
Should a Master of a Combat Profession be more powerful then a Non-Master of another profession who spread their skill points around? ABSOLUTELY...why the hell not..spreading skill points around is done out of strategy, not power...or that's atleast what the thought process should be...Flame 3 of Commando is nice...but not as good as Flame 4...and if things on the Test Server transfer, Master Commando will be better then Flame 4...
Let's use a real world example....Let's say Bob and Greg have the same learning curve...Bob learns everything there is to know about Building Boats...Greg on the otherhand learns half as much as Bob about boats and spends the rest of his time learning about other things...Who will build a better boat? But wait a minute...Greg did spend just as much time learning...so he must be able to build a boat just as good as Bob....right? Silly example, but I think it illustrates my point...just because you spent the same amount of skill points doesn't mean you are equal in certain areas....If I have enough skill points to get Novice Medic...should I be able to heal just as well as a Master Medic? Who should be better with a pistol? Someone who Mastered Marksman, or someone who took the same amount of skill points and half mastered both brawler and Marksman? Who should have a better chance in a PvP battle, especially when range is taken into account? They both spent the same amount of skill points...but if the Master Marksman can stay far enough away from the other person, they should win easy...
Why do you think SOE calls them Hybrid or Elite professions...they give the big guns to the professions that have the most xp to grind....If Master Rifleman required other skills, say Master Marksman + Master Unarmed I'd understand 100% them having weapons that shoot as hard as Commando...
What would the point be to Mastering Commando or Bounty Hunter if it wasn't for the Big Guns? Why wouldn't everyone just dabble...Heck...I could just get Flame2 combined with most other non-hybrid professions if I wanted...Why get Master Commando at all? For that matter...why not get Novice BH so I can have LLC...I'll be just as good with it as anyone else right? WRONG...I'd have to just about Master Bounty Hunter to be truely proficient with the weapon...Soon Master Commando will make the Flame Thrower much more accurate...
Any Commando that hits Flame2 will kill you? Ummm...if they get Lucky...first they have to have Flame3 to have a chance of actually hitting...second, it doesn't work well if the opponent is moving or in water....third, the opponent has to be within 16m for it to connect...fourth, if the first shot misses (which it happens more then you realize) then the Commando will pretty much be incapped before the second shot thanks to a nice delay (which includes healing, switching to another weapon...everything get's delayed)...and if they get a second shot, then they may have a chance, but most get incapped this day...it's after we get incapped or die that the burn usually kills the opponent...some win if we die first!!!
So BH's can pretty much one-shot everyone? So they are the Champions of PvP...we should just all agree with that? Nobody every beats a BH or even has a possibility to do so....why bother trying...there is no possible strategy to prevent a 1 shot kill? I don't think so...sounds to me like some sour grapes going on here...if you get 1 shot killed, then 1 of 2 things happened...1) you were out-matched, 2) the opponenet got off a lucky shot....otherwise it takes a few shots...
Should professions like Bounty Hunter or Commando be more Powerful? yep...Should they be able to one-shot kill an opponent? if they can, absolutely....but the right combinations or strategy can prevent that...The game would be EXTERMELY boring if all professions were evenly matched...there would be no reason to Master anything...I'd just do a little dabbling here, a little there, and someone would come up with the "perfect" template that 99% of combat folks would follow...Instead we have Uber Commandos and BH's that get their butts kicked by a simple Combat Medic Poison....We have a Rifleman that takes out a Commando while he's trying to get to the 16m mark...
Yes...we have the bigger Guns....and they do the most damage....but to get the right skills to use them we create more weaknesses then other professions who have more skill points left over to round their characters defenses out...
1) Name one other ranged profession where ALL of their specials have to be used within 16m....
None but thats totally irrelevent when facing off against ranged weapon fighters. You are just upset because melee fighters have your number, just like they have the number of caribneers and riflemen. Its the tradeoff, you get an uber powered in close attack when you are a ranged fighter. Have you seen the damage that the default attack of your flamerthorwer does? Its the same damage that most ranged fighters hit for when using their special moves, or even if its slightly less, (and its only slightly) it doesn't matter because your default attack sure as hell owns the default attack of other ranged professions.
2) Name any Melee professions that gets incapped in a few hits by fighting creatures like Nunas (thanks to the 2.5x melee damage bonus), while they wait for their delay to finish so they can fire again...
Thats totally irrelevent again. Melee fighters trade off the ranged ablitiles in exchange for being up close beat em uppers. You aren't a melee class all ranged classes except pistoler suffer this penalty, but hey I do believe that you have a certain pistol weapon, called the launcher pistol and its one of the best pistols in the game, and you dont take 2.5 melee damage when using it. If you are seriously telling me that nuna's are killing you then perhaps you're not exactly cut out for SWG... Try going back to frogger. and maybe, just maybe using a flamethrower on nuna's or cappers, or Grogs is a bit of overkill dont ya think?
If you can't, don't post here again...you don't know what your talking about...From now on, only fight NPC's and other players at 16m or less...see how long you last...
Not long I'd imagine... Unless I had a flamethrower that could deal out serious damage and then a launcher pistol that can target their health bar so all you have to do is hold out while the DOT of flamesingle drains their health way down.
I don't mind there being a 2.5x melee damage bonus...but if you are going to make Commando's fight like melee fighters, don't give the melee fighter an advantage...OR...make us fight like other ranged fighter and let us use our specials at a farther distance...
YOU HAVE A PISTOL
For any other profession that thinks we are whining...answer this riddle for me: What other profession Fights like a Melee Profession but suffers like a Ranged Profession?
YOU HAVE A PISTOL
ur full of it we have no spiciels for that junk of a pistol the swg5 dose more dam then it dose and the ham cost is even higher so u just shut that litel 3 yer old trap of urs
o sure we have body shot but wow that hardly dose any dam and as for waiting for them to burn to death i like to c u doge/skirt most mobs {i laugh at u y u tryed waiting for that slow dot to kill and not haveing and power to kill it becous if we shich to that flamer we be 1 hit incap } were not combat medics with posion that can hit all stats
and for that outrages clame that r default attack is as power full as most thats bull its slow and misses 90% of the time
go find a tree and climb it and tell the moon what u think i dont whent to hear ur 1 cent with no facts

The complaining on the Threads have now changed from Commadosto pistol firing Professions, haha. I knew it. Once meles got there wish for extra mele damage on Commandos, Pistoleers& Smugglers with the big attackswere next. I read three threads in two minutes already and they are all mele complaints about how Pistoleers can still one shot kill them. Get ready to lube up Pistoleers and Smugglers, your about to find out what Commandos are going through.
Mi-Kael or whatever your name is...
What do you mean we arent a melee class??...BAH... have you read the commando tree??? you goof..
. we have to master unarmed to the Teras Kasi student level... I.E. unarmed 4.... not melee??? all of our specials ARE completed at 16m or less.. and as far as base attack mods.. try playing as a commando and see how many times YOU miss and miss and miss... with a flamer or the HAR... or any of the other supposid (broken) Heavy weapons..for that matter ESPECIALLY at distance. .![]()
And dont think I dont know about the melee professions either I am also working on being a master TKA, and I like the balance that both commando and TKA provide... its just that having a 2.5X melee penalty for a class that is supposed to have a defense against such things... plus complete their specials in a range of 16meters or less..(melee range) AND then wait for a cool down while you are getting yourteeth kicked in isstupid... and poorly thought out by SOE.. ![]()
In seeking the almighty nerfherding cry for balance.... they break the things that are fixed and leave the the things that are broken... well STILL broken... if you dont like being one shoted by a Commando or BH dont fight them in PvP... (although it would be a safe bet that you would probably win now because of the goofy new patch) and dont boo hoo on the commando board(s) because we have a pistol either.. fwg5's hit a heck of a lot harder than any launcher pistol I have ever seen... and yeah I can use a bleed shot or health/body shot... but once again.. with the COMMANDO pistol the LP (Launcher pistol) for you Lameo's that dont already know... I still suffer the melee damage modifier.. pistoleers sufer less or none at all.. where is the sense in that line of logic??? ![]()
If this game gets any worse than it already is.. (like the goofy idea the devs are currently toying around with I.E. the 3% for incap... 20% for death .. Items in your possession decay rate) I will play something like frogger again... at least you know what to expect and their isnt any other frogs hoping with youboo hooingabout your ability to cross traffic and logs faster than them... ![]()

Sorry I'm not a commando but I can't help but laugh at the irony of this situation.
COMANDOS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT ANOTHER CLASS DOING TO MUCH DAMAGE
I'm sorry but thats hiliarty, this is the same melee multiplyer that carbineers and riflemen have been putting up with since the games launch we've learned to suck it up and deal around it, you will too
a) No it's not. Ours is more than carbineers.
b) You can spam your special from 40-50-60m away. Well out of melee range. We cannot.
Learn before you post.
Mi-Kael... I've seen some ignorant posts before, but your's definitely takes a prize...you defeat your own arguement in your responses...
You admit no other ranged class has to use it's specials within 16m and that Ranged classes don't get incapped as often BECAUSE they can fight farther away...
We aren't a Melee class? Your right...we technically are ranged...we should fight like a RANGED profession...or we should be in a type of our own...something like "Close-Quarters Fighter"...None of use would complain one bit if 1 of 2 things happened:
1) No Melee penalty for us...and we don't do the Melee Penalty to any ranged fighters (something that use to be in place, but we fought to get that changed)...
or 2) Let use our specials at a farther distance...personally I'd just be happy if they just doubled our special distance to 32m...at least we should be able to get off 2 shots before we are incapped.
The comment about Nunas and me not playing SWG tells me you are 11 years old...face full of pimples and had some emotional scaring done by the girls at grade school laughing at you....come on...look at your arguement...
Your Arguement: I fight at a distance and have no problem killing anything before they get close enough to do the 2.5x penalty on me...You fight up close and suffer from the 2.5x penatly because you can't fire as fast (thanks to the delay), you can't move around because your accuracy sucks, and they are pretty much on top of you before the first shot hits...It's the same thing...I know that if you fire a FT, then switch to the Launcher pistol you still suffer the delay before you can fire the pistol and even after you fire the pistol, because you originally used a FT, you STILL suffer the 2.5x melee damage (yes we do)...but again...it's all the same...stop whining...
YES WE HAVE A PISTOL....We also have NO specials of our own for our pistol...my FWG5 is tons better then my Launcher Pistol or many other's I've seen...Most commandos ignore the Launcher pistol after then hit Flame 3 since it's pretty much usless (unless needing to do blast damage)...we still suffer the Melee Penalty when we combine both weapons during a fight...so what's the point...run real close, do a flame, then try and run away while waiting for the delay to let use equip and fire our LP? pathetic...
Go away...your done...after what you posted, no one will ever give your posts any respect...do your research next time...
Stephanie... you keep saying we are one-shot killing opponents...give me an example where Commando's are doing this and not getting killed themselves at the same time or before you die...come on, I'm waiting...what armor was the opponent wearing? none? well maybe I can understand that...but I've fought several people and none of them died on the First Shot...I had to hit them at least 2 or 3 times before they went down...and in most cases, it was because they hit heal instead of getting off one quick shot that would have killed me...or they didn't stay outside 16m (still no one-shot, just a nice burn that takes them down soon after)...Kite a Commando outside the 16m and you'llwin 9 outof 10 times if you haveany nice Ranged Professionand weapon...Melee is another story...they have to get within 16m...They can still beat us if we miss our first special...but it comes down to luck...If we get that first special off, run for water really quick, then run back and incapp us (since we'll probably still be on the delay)...I do think when fighting PvP, Commandos have an advantage over Melee professions...oh well...it is fire...but I also believe that all other Ranged Professions have and advantage over Commandos since they can fight at a distance and just kite us...I'm not complaining about it...it's cool...I just don't understand why people are bitching that Commandos are too powerful when as of late we lose most PvP battles...
So Stephanie...I'm waiting for that one-hit example regarding Commando fighting a ranged opponent...I'd really like to know that strategy...Your right, we got a big weapon and inturn suffer for it...but the balance is off...We get all offense and no defense...we may once in awhile get a lucky one-shot, but90% of the time, we Commandos are getting killed...
And yes...BH's have a powerful gun that works at a ranged distance and can one-shot kill folks...I'm a Commando and that's pretty much our worst nightmare...I know if I go into a battle with a BH I'll probably be dead pretty quick, but you know what...I think it's GREAT!!!! They earned it...They had to earn more xp for their profession then I had too...I thought about being a BH, but the grind is hell...If I want to have a chance as a Commando, it means I have to use strategy and know their weaknesses....I don't envy them...I respect what they do to get to the Master Level...If I wanted to compete, I'd become a BH too...So they EARNED the right...if fighting them ruins the game for you, here's the perfect solution...surprised you didn't think of it...DON'T FIGHT THEM!!!!
I cant believe this thread is still going? This was originally abouta joke of the endless nerfing. My intent wasto make a point about how ridiculous the Nerfing is currently. It has a sarcastic haha. I just had to laugh as someone once told me "Its inevitable that all the cries for balancing will lead to the Nerf Wars". He was right. I gave up, Commandos will be d/b easier while still being broken. CH's are about to get another Nerf, they are nerfing that profession to death. And the ultimate Nerf, Decay on all items when d/b or incap, 20% from what I heard, not looking forward to this due to I have every Commando weapon when I hunt.
To put it plainly, I agree we should all start working together or we'll find ourselves running around naked with a cdef pistol hunting nuna's. Either that or I'll be working my way up the Image D. profession because the dam almighty holocron said to go that way. So unless that sounds like a game you want to play stop saying Nerf all the time and start asking the devs to do there job and fix everyones class.
What kind of examples are you looking for. I could cite the hundreds of people I've one shotted, in all forms of armor, I can tell you I see my buddy (whom I play everyday with) who still holds on to Flame4 and one shots people all day. I mean I don't know what you want here. You must obviously donot understand that I played a Master Commando, I've done all of the things I've stated, I have first hand experience not just observation. In the sake of balance no one profession or 2 should ever as you put it EARN the right to one shot anyone. Else all we will have is what we had before the 75% dmg reduction and a crapload of BHs and Commandos running around. Instead I think we should promote balance and a diverse profession game. It would be nice to see as many Master Combat professions running around being effective as well as seeing BHs and Commandos. But anyway, whatever. Try reading what I've typed, I dont think im saying anything unreasonable.
Here is what I feel is a reasonable solution...and basically what I think the original poster (per their last post) had in mind...NO NERFs FORANY COMBAT PROFESSION!!! We should all support that and each other...
In stead 2 things should happen:
First, and most importantly, fix what's still broken in certain professions...
Second, Give Melee professions slightly better ranged defenses...Keep the 2.5x Melee Damage Bonus...and make Melee Defense bonuses increases to professions based on the range of their specials...What's on Test Center for Commando is an excellent start, if not a great solution...we still get the penalty, but not as bad as other professions...Currently, even Rifleman get more melee defense then we do, and we fight closer...Make it something like +30 (because of 16m)for Commandos, +20 for Pistoleers, and +15 or less for other ranged groups depending on distance...Don't weaken the weapons, build up the defenses...I'm guessing that's partially what the Dev's had in mind when they made some of their recent changes on the Test Server...I haven't looked at other professions, but commando has the +30...
