Why do people keep advising non-level 80 templates? The above is not the only one i have seen. Seems to me you will die rather quickly with such a template.
It'll have an impact in PvE yes, but she specifically said it's for PvP. With nutrient injection, you'll have the health of a lvl 80 player.

Also you get a damage decrease against your level 80 opponents and they get a damage increase against you.

Are you sure that works in pvp too ?
I am not entirely sure, but every <80 character I have been up to have been pushovers. Ofcourse, that might be becouse the lower health.

Several reasons actually:
- lower health
- lower weapon accuracy
- lower defences
- lower armour certificates and thus very often weaker armour
These things add up for a quick defeat, but if the person in question has the money, he can to some degree compensate with SEAs.

correct, no damage multipliers/reduction in PvP due to CL
M.Smuggler/Commando 0403/Pistoleer 0404/CM 4000
Area mezzes, root, snare, blind (with Acid Stream Launcher), stun, disarm shot, and damn fine heals ![]()
The only con to lower CL in pvp is the lower HAM. A doc buff or food will fix that.
However, its not really needed. My starsider commando is level 64 and has zero skillpoints left. Very few stand up to him 1-1 (and by that i mean only those with ridiculously high armor rating who have high medic skills and healing tapes..nothing can beat people healing for 2k a pop..sigh)

I'd stay away from smuggler if I'd take master commando, smuggler has a bunch of action control moves which break on damage and dots. Remember, commando weapons have limited range, so it's best you pick up some movement control abilities (I suggest carbineer). I'd also strongly suggest you take buffing abilities, because commando weapons are the slowest in game. Here's something I came up on the spot:
Master commando / Doc 0004 / Pistoleer 0400 / Carbineer 0300
I chose the pistoleer/carb combo to stack some badly needed accuracy.
My Master Commando/ Master Carbineer is faster with the plasma flamer than with a carbine. Of course, my plasma flamer is 2.6 speed ![]()
If the SAC wasn't so high, or if it could take reinforced stock powerups, the actual DPS with it would be crazy.

Master commando
Master pistoleer (gives you master level root and plenty of general ranged accuracy/speed)
Carbines 0 3 0 0 (For improved leg shot which has the highest dam multiplier of all ranged attacks that are useable while standing/moving along with advanced critical)
medic 0 2 0 0 (with healing eff clothes/tapes can heal over 1k)
This template would allow you to target two body parts for stacking dots with the use of body shot and leg shot.
allows you to area root for a nice long duration with master pistoleer.
allows you to area kd with the rocket launcher
and you can stay alive thanks to the heals.
This is exactly what i will be going for if i ever move into commando as i know for a fact that it will create an up-roar in large scale pvp
That is a pretty cool template. But you could do away with the medic by useing stim d's as they heal real nice. I'd replace medic with some rifle skills, sniper shot rocks......so does headshot
sniper shot = have to be prone and 30 metres away min so pretty useless in large pvp where the emphasis is on movement to avoid jedi kickin your head in and stim d's wont be enough imho if your up against a half descent squad that know about targeting the biggest threat first (which you would be with this template, area rooting them all etc)
also head shot has a lower damage multiplier than carbines leg shot which sickens me given that rifles is suppost to be the damage dealer.
