Thread: I would like to be serious nuisance in large scale pvp...

I was thinking about dumping my chef and remake her into a template with the sole purpose of being a total nuisance in large scale pvp. I do not really care if she dies over and over again, I just wish to cause as much havoc as possible before I go down.


The way I understand it, doing damage is not quite what you do with Commando theese days, but its possible to use commando to convert any annoying crowdcontrol special from smuggler/pistoleer into an AoE using commando weapons.


Would you guys recomend Master Commando for this purpose?


Thinking about something like master commando, master smuggler, 0444 Pistoleer.

For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

If you want to be a master of large-scale annoyance, than you're looking at the one thing this class is good at right now.

If thats what you want then no question about it:


commando 4040

pistoleer 2431

carbineer 0010

Master Marksman

Medic 0040

Smuggler 4000



Its the perfect annoy-the-heck-outta people template.


You get to fire dot/blind people with thermal grenades/flamer and glop grenades....


you get to KD 40m in cone ahead of you using the regular flamer+carbineer KD attack...


you get to root people 40m in cone in front of you with stopping shot/concussion shot...


you get to panic shot (prevents from attacking for short period of time)+disarm shot (same as panic shot, stackable with panic shot) with the flamer and everyone 40m in cone in front of you will be completely unable to attack for about 8 seconds (and you fire dot them at the same time)


you get to lower enemy defenses and their damage output, again 40m in front of you with flamer, by using pistoleer warning shot (-80 ranged/melee defenses) and intimidate



you can heal yourself GOOD to stay alive longer in battle (and thus increase the time you torture the poor SOBs) with medic 0040



you get to do all this FAST thanks to master marksman speed mod



and last but not least....


you get LAST DITCH so that last shot you take before you get cut down will be MEMORABLE to the guy in the receiving end.

I'd switch to the Lightning Beam Cannon myself,it has an explosion effect (more likely they'll be close to eachother then they'll line up for you), fire DoT, AND slows speeders down! I dunno what good that'll do ya, but might keep somebody from running away someday... You can just move the xx4x in Commando to any of the other weapons easy as pie, no need to recalculate they all use the same SP... Also, lightning cannon tree gives accuracy, which might be a better idea right there.


Acid Rifle Thingie sounds promising too. I don't touch the things though.

I'd stay away from smuggler if I'd take master commando, smuggler has a bunch of action control moves which break on damage and dots. Remember, commando weapons have limited range, so it's best you pick up some movement control abilities (I suggest carbineer). I'd also strongly suggest you take buffing abilities, because commando weapons are the slowest in game. Here's something I came up on the spot:


Master commando / Doc 0004 / Pistoleer 0400 / Carbineer 0300


I chose the pistoleer/carb combo to stack some badly needed accuracy.

Seana ive had a commando since about pub 5 and i love it but commando is more of a state of mind than an uber proffesion(hella fun though). Knowing you i dont think its for you but for what your asking commando is the way to go and if you wanna try it ill be more than happy to supply you with some nice commando weapons. Ill hit you ingame and talk about it.

Why do people keep advising non-level 80 templates? The above is not the only one i have seen. Seems to me you will die rather quickly with such a template.

I'd say go with the Acid Launcher. Its got a longer range and built in blind effect. Havent worked out the skill points though, so it might not be do-able.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you need master commando to use the flamethrower. Funny no one else caught onto this, or didn't post it anyway. (if i missed someone's post pointing this out, sorry)

You can use the flamethrower with Incindiary 3. You need master for the Plasma Flamer though.

I guess I've never owned a regular flammer. All the flamethrowers I've owned, could use them untill I mastered commando. Makes sense having the flamethrower cert with Incindiary 3 though.


Just annother example of how life is a never ending learning process.
