If you are unfamiliar with the Correspondent system - one of the neat things they do once in a while (totally unpaid, mind you) is collect the issues from "hours of posts" into a single one so you don't have to do it. As seen, for example, here...
Too bad no one ever reads that stuff, they usually do a great job and are significantly more objective than players "speaking" directly to red names in threads like this one.

Thanks to everyone who remained constructive and reiterated their issues here in this thread. I know you guys sometimes get tired of repeating yourselves, but given a limited amount of time to address issues, it was far quicker to create a focused thread like this than to wade through hours of posts elsewhere to make sure that we're addressing the issues you guys think are the most important.

well, looks like we might see something for commandos yet
1) Give commandos special abilites. I think Commando is the only elite profession that has no special abilities or attacks associated with it. Most commandos feel like that must take another ranged profession for attacks. You would see a lot more opting to go the melee route if commando had special attacks of their own or some abilities that focused around unarmed combat.
2) Fix or redefine how area effects work for grenades and heavy weapons.
3) Fix grenades in general. They do crap in the way of damage for a weapon you have to buy crates of in order to use on a regular basis.

Starnick has already made multiple posts in this forum and im sure he has posted ALL of our opinions in the correspondent boards. Instead of coming here to step over his work and, as tradition has it, get us all hyped and then ignore us and nerf us for the next 2 years i'd suggest you get you use the SEARCH feature in this forum (ermm.. i suppose it DOES work for red names dont it? sure hasnt worked for us plebes for nearly a year) and read his posts.
addendum: My god I just read the several replies Helios has made. It can all be shortened to:
'Oh you mean AOE doesnt work?'
Finally, TYVM , proof SOE hasnt heard a WORD the commando correspondent has said, typed and i bet screamed at them since the CU.
This is justsad man, just SAD. But not suprising.

Three things..
1. Make Commando weapons do heavy damage, or else have them do 100% damage in their area. Perhaps have some commando weapons that do heavy damage to one target, and some commando weapons that do moderate damage to a lot of targets. Also, perhaps Status effect grenades that are more powerful or more effective and/or different than the status effects generated by ranged combat skills.
2. A larger variety of Commando weapons, or at least more diversity. Commando is pretty much the "flamethrower profession". Give us a legitimate reason to use beam weapons (other than to boost the ranged accuracy/speed of the ranged professions.
3. Pull the melee stuff out of the profession.. not only the melee requirement, but the melee bounsses and whatnot in the actual profession as well. I'd rather have those skill points for FS stuff, or for something else that benefits my ranged accuracy or speed.
