Out of curiousity...how have you loots been?
Lately I've been trying to test whether looting chances are better using different weapon attacks...I seem to get a lot less loots when I kill my target wtih mainly flame specials...but part of me thinks I'm just imagining that...

I dont think the devs are intellegent enough to code that garvin.....

Actually...many of us will remember a ways back when we didn't receive any xp via our DoT damge...it was also a common discussion that many thought if our flame specials one-shot killed a target, we either lost looting rights or the loot was "destroyed"...
It was something that was reported fixed with the XP issue was settled...that's why I'm curious if anyone has noticed looting issues via using the flame specials...you never know when these issues might crawl back in...

Yeah I remember those days, but I might chalk it up to imagining things though. When you are bitter at one thing it seems to seep into other parts too. You might want to ask TH about it then...

Hey Garvin... my loots were pretty regular: 1-2 drops per spawn. The drops sometimes were Locked Containers tho, or even worse, Act 1 & 2 data disks. I've got bad news on Kauri tho...
I looted 9 BH armor components and 2 Jetpack Bases in one day on Yavin IV. I called off my search after that, since I completed my second suit, but from all the guys I helped hunt (info like i posted here) Apparently the loot drop rate has gone down a lot. Like 1 every 6 spawns. So I'm thinking that while your attacks may not influence the drops (I only used the 4 flame dots), the ammount in circulation does. They may bump the drop rate up again in a few weeks, but they seem to have choked it off on my server for the time being

Loot rate is definitely way down since Pub 9. From 1-2 BH armor pieces per spawn to 1 piece every 4-5 spawns. It is still dropping though. While Black Suns can be found near the Imp Prison POI on Dathomir and in the hills to the northwest of Endor Research, the northwest quadrant of Yavin 4 is by far the best place to find them. Here is a map of places where I have found spawns in the past. Keep in mind that they are totally random and almost never spawn in the exact same place twice.

Actually all of my loots came from a very small area: from the East-West Trench that shows up as a black line near the NW corner of the map North, and from the mountain West.... 2 1/2 full suits... i probably left that much destroyed armor out there too
... those guys hit hard

This is for anyone who's seen Bounty Hunter armor and wanted it:
Commandos are the BEST profession to solo the Black Sun spawns on Yavin and Dathomir. The Black Sun's lowest resists are Heat and Acid... so just stack every burn on em and then roast some marshmellows. They're pretty nasty, but definatly soloable if you keep your head on straight and don't attack the whole spawn at once. They've got 12-37k HAM's, Medium armor and varying resists depending on what type of Black Sun it is, but for every one, Heat and Acid are the lowest resists.
I'ma Master Smuggler/Master Commando and used Fiegn Death as well... Just a thought.

just on the two planets i've mentioned... heard they spawn a bit more frequently by the Imperial Prison on dath.... I've never actually hunted them on dathomir. I spent 4 weeks on Yavin IV instead....
Got 2 1/2 suits tho
Just so you know, this stuff takes forever to get. I spent 4 full buffs looking for my first spawn
