As it is now if you are using a heavy weapon, no matter what you kill, you will get no more then roughly 3k xp. The only expection to this (and its a pretty nice exception) is with grenades. I think it is unfair and probably unintended that if I kill say a Giant Baz nitch as a TKA (which I am), I will recieve around 5K unarmed xp. If i kill the same creature with my flame thrower I get 3K xp...just not right!
So if you agree that we are getting screwed here, send me a sign!

I fully agree that we are getting the boot end here...I've brought it up a number of times to the Devs and have yet to get a response on this issue...I even brought it up when the Jedi stuff was in testing telling the Devs that they were putting Commandos at a disadvantage when it comes to the XP Exchange for FS...
I had hoped that this would have been addressed by them weeks ago when the FS stuff first hit the live servers...now with JTL on the brain, I'm afraid it may not get addressed until after the release...but I'll keep trying and keep bringing it to their attention...

yet another reason commando is the worst fight class in game, is there any reason at all to be a commando?

There is just no excuse for this I think. What were they thinking when they implemented this? Well, I'm sure that there was something good intended but like many things, it went sour and now it's just another nerf like effect on us. grrrr....

I've never even known that. Commando was my first and only true love. I have stuck with it even though I know that there are numerous bugs. So, I've never even been another combat class. Now that I am trying to gring through fs xp and I know I can get 5000+ xp from being TKM I think I might move on. I love being a commando but at this point the disadvantages greatly outweigh........wait there are no advantages.

The reason behind the lower xp cap is that Commando requires a lower total heavy weapons xp requirement for master, than say, Rifleman requires. Commando requires some 450K less xp than rifleman to fill the three non-combat xp boxes.
The xp required in the prereqs for Commando are ignored, however.
Also, the Commando requires only slightly more Combat xp than the aforementioned Rifleman.
However, grenades give 100 percent combat xp, and that is one area that the commando excels temporarilyin the force xp conversion. Combat xp converts 3 to 1 to force sensitive xp. Get some speed sliced grenades and head to the geo cave during an overspawn and you will cap out in no time. The reason I say temporarily is that sooner or later, the devs are going to fix that, and Commando will be "nerfed" (thou not intentionally (it never is..lol)) along with Jedi that like to level there.
What the devs fail to understand is the obvious lack of accuracy and speed, this being the Commando's main handicap. Lack of defenses comes in a close second. But the lack of accuracy and speed (even at flame IV) actually takes commando longer to level, further ignoring the fact that good xp giving mobs usually have a resistance to heat (the most common damage form in the game)
Hope this helps

Thanks Garvin,
I think if we just keep up the pressure and keep reminding them they will eventually correct the problem. Who knows, they may find its a simple fix.
