Thread: Why Devs wont fix Commando.

1 dancers are far more important to the overall game includign the GCW without them we would all be nothing

2 Master badges are also far more important because as well know without badges we could not function

3 Vet Rewards/New Holograms are so much more useful than a working game

4 Jedi bring in more people

5 Having bounty hunter terminals display wanted posters that read as Wanted:Some Dude Difficulty: Unkown Reward: I'll tell you later

6 the loot Mellichae drops should be fixed before Commando does more damage

7 my personal favoriteevs watched the movie commando to decide on what to do but rented it from Blockbuster and the guy put the movie Kung Pow in the case instead

Thus TKM will always beat the guy with the rocket launcher

It is easy... "We don't know what is actually wrong with the code, so we will put fixing it on the back-burner."

Why not take suggestions from the community? "We want to see how commando works when it is working as intended, then we can look at making changes."

Thus commando will get fixed.... someday... when they get around to it.

New code is easier than fixing old code. If you don't want to do new code, claim to be fixing the old stuff.

Dev 1 (to the smuggler community) : I promise you guys will get your revamp as soon as we fix the commandos.

Why? Just look at us?I wouldn't be surprised if the total number of commandos has dropped to a few hundered, Master commandos being a mere hundered at best. And that's talking every server. We're as rare as jedi should be, but for the completely wrong reasons.


And jedi appear to be much more important to them.

True. So does Bounty Hunter, and Smuggler. One only needs to look at the love Bounty Hunter is getting to see that.

And for the life of me, since Smuggler is SUCH an iconic Star Wars profession, how they could ignore it for so long. BUT, I have my own little theory on that...Smuggler, even preCU, worked. Its attacks worked. Its spices worked (however, were made obsoleet by doc and ent buffs). Smuggler, IMHO, is the ultimate RP profession, and any smuggler missions given out are nothing more than glorified delivery missions. AND, further, any Smuggler specific missions/content created will be absolutely powergamed by the Smugglers, that cries for NEW content will come shortly thereafter.






Exactly number one problem with people is they gotta learn to create their own content and to do that you have to RP in a manner.

Heck if I could still wear ST Armor I'd probably go patrol/scan folks on Dathmoir. Actually that sounds like the basis of a good guild event. Anyways.

It would still be nice if the Enviroment did do so fun stuff. I hope that some day I'll be with a Smuggler as their carrying some "goods" on their YT-1300. What can I say the Empire doesn't pay so great...

And besides these goods are going to some friends anyways. Who cares if their illegal right?

Well if it's an NPC Mission I suppose it won't help anyone but the Smuggler who probably is only gonna get paid some 20K.

Anyways as were riding along in Space an ISD comes and hails us. We stop and they say that a boarding Party will soon be landing, to check this Civilian Freighter out.

So the Stormtroopers come in. But then I just make sure my Imprial Officers Uniform looks good and I walk up to the Stormtroopers and show them my Rank Insginia, showing that I'm a Major.

I tell them everything is under control and I'm simply taking a cruise with an old friend. Due to my Rank they have no choice but to leave as I say.

And so our journey continues, but then we are not so lucky. Pirates yay!

The swarm and disable our Ship cause their are a lot of them and I try to man the guns but they disable us with a few missles.

They're smart enough to know where Smuggling stuff and soon another boarding Party has come on aboard. However this Boarding Party is not so friendly. So now the two of must fight off about 10 or so Pirates. Stealthy we hit them and run to another part of the Ship picking them off one by one, with such hit and run tactics, eventually we win.

We pull out a few repair kits. Thge other Pirates in their Ships sit outside baffled as to what is taking so long. My Smuggler friend quickly repairs the Ship. I hop in the Turret and blast the Idle Pirates. Enough have been destroyed so now we can actually make a run for it. My friend goes full throttle as I shoot off the remaining fighters. And wa la another succesful mission!

I have to much imagination I think.

No, it's working as intended until they decide otherwise. Remember that post by TH just after the CURB saying how godly you could be using stopping-shot with a flamethrower in a group of MOBs and knock them all down and set them all on fire? Well apparently everyone else but TH and Blix thought that combo was unbalancing. Same thing with some of the stuff over on Rangers... conceal removing you from radar is too powerful for a ranger, but not for a jedi or a rifleman. Traps applying a single-target (or multi-target in the case of flash-bomb) state effect to NPCs and players is overpowering for a scout/ranger but is fine for every single other profession in game. Same in both cases.. the profession that's SUPPOSED to be elite at those activities is unbalancing. Don't get me started on how fast a doc could heal wounds vs a jedi for the longest time.
