The radius on the Proton Rifle has NEVER worked (thank god we have a non-AoE weapon!). But yeah, it's pupable, and with new slices being better than before we should be able to challenge an unsliced/puped proton carbine at least. Perhaps even a sliced proton carbine, as long as you have a good pup on yours.

Now I have to loot one again though.

You will have to buy one after Pub 19 that was looted after Pub 19.

my proton rifle doesnt seem to fire.

No, you're a moron, buddy. Don't you know what every OTHER commando weapon is already used for? We want a single target weapon, especially since with the new patch the smuggler dazes BREAK on damage. So you shoot them again and they'll be right back up to peak efficiency.

Uh...most commandos are actually very intelligent and resourceful (which is the only reason they can survive such a broken profession). Since they have already figured out how to root a bunch of people with one shot using the launcher pistol, acid stream launcher, flamethrower, lightning beam cannon, and plasma flamethrower, I'd say they realize this is possible. I'll also bet thatmost commandos know thattheir most powerful weapon should probably be used to do damageratherthan mass root since we have 5 other weapons that can performmass rootsjust as well. I'd say it's even possible that a commando may want to damage a single difficult target without aggroing 10 other difficult targets and getting himself killed. I'll bet most commandos alsoknow that their role according the the CU notes is to be a damage dealing profession, not a root a bunch of people in one shot profession. Now, with all this in mind, maybe we should rethink whois the moron postingin this thread.

First, wrong forum to be saying most Commandoes are morons...

Second, who is the moron that thinks a 6m radius would be the best Commando weapon to use to root a full crowd of people? I doubt that they would be standing that close anyways unless it was a jedi circle jerk.

Though I do find this persons beleif in AoEs disturbing.

AoEs are good for two things as I see it. Nice in PvP since just because you hit someone doesn't mean they'll attack you. And always the mass Crowd Control you get. It's also very handy for taking out many Low CL NPC Creatures. Thus you kill them and more likely survive a mass attack better then other folks.

However when fighting stuff your CL or higher that just ticks everything and gets you killed faster. And in PvP One on One AoE isn't going do you Sh!t.

So...

But some of us desire a weapon we can fire and not have all heck come after us and plainly put a weapon that just does a ton of damage. Besdies how do Blaster Bolts have an Area of Effect?
