Thread: 81 Skill points and you Still Cry For Defences :|

Skill Points Broken Down



  • MasterMarks= 77

  • Unarmed 4(brawler) = 29

  • Master Commando = 63



Last Time I checked, I had 81 skill points left after master commando & found with the 64 it took to master Teras Kasithedefences are almost the best you can have with out Melee stacking.And I had enough for novice medic.


WHATS THE PROBLEM?


YOU CAN'T TAKE A GROUP OF 5 LIKE IN THE OLD DAYS, CMON GROW UP & STOP PVPing or GO FENCER PERIOD...


I've personally met to many people who are concerned with doing other things with their commando (example:a guy who told me he was picking up novice musician to heal his own wounds.) and all I can say is you have to make a choice, Combat or Non-Com its that simple.

No one laughs @ me or my FlameThrower wielding friends and for good reason we're allways the first targets when it comes to PVP.

I'm not exactly sure where you are going with your post...but let me tell why Commandos should have higher defences...plain and simple...


We earned it!!!


Look at professions like Pistoleer, Rifleman, Swordsman, TKA, etc...all have higher defenses...Rifleman and TKA can even out damage a Commando when it comes to DPS...yet all 3 have less pre-reqs then a Commando...


Commandos also, unlike Pistoleer, have ALL of our specials within Melee Range, yet a profession like Pistoleer has higher Melee Defenses...That makes no sense...


Yes, we have 81 skill points left when we Master Commando...But Fencer, Rifleman, Pistoleer and TKA all have 158 skill points left when they Master their professions AND they come out with higher defenses...again, makes no sense...


Some would say that we get low defenses as payment for our high damage capability, but it is a proven fact that, thanks to our poor accuracy, poor speed and delay penalties, we can easily be out damaged by both Rifleman and TKA when you look at Damage Per Second...yet these other professions don't suffer the same or similar penalties...


I am a Master Commando/Master TKA...that give you +94 Melee Def and +90 Ranged Def with 18 points remaining...A Master Rifleman/Master TKA has +117 Ranged Def and +102 Melee Def, as well as comes with much more Dev Vs. mods and still has 66 skill points left over...This is called unbalanced...


You confussion seems to be that High Defenses are only good for PvP...that is so untrue when it comes to Commando...With most High MOB's having 80 to 100% Heat resists, we need high defenses to last long enough to get off a few extra shots...That's why we ask and expect improvements...


And before you say "If you aren't happy, try a different profession" I have to say that that response is the most sad and over-used inaccuracte way of thinking...If you car pops a tire, do you say "Well, this is no good, I better go buy a new car"...no...you make sure your car get's fixed, because you know you can get it fixed...We who are still here believe we can get our profession fixed...and so we stay and work to see it fixed...that's what being a Diehard Commando is all about...and even those who have left our ranks still remain Diehard Commandos in spirit...most still post here looking forward to the day when we get our fixes and they can return to the fold...

Derp, I disagree (again).


Also, you have obviously missed the point....


Yeah...we can get TKM for another 63 (btw not 64, SP)....but why?


Why do we -have- to take another profession to survive? Granted our FT is useful at times...but, last time I looked...many more professions can do more...


Look at it this way,


Im a TKM...what should I take for better damage? Commando and use up 77 more SP than an elite profession? Or swordsman for example, which will only use up 92 Sp rather than 169...


29 for UA IV,14 for 2-handed, 63 for TKM, 63 for Swordsman...thats169 SP, commando is 169 SP (exactly the same)....yet as a TKM, you have a GREAT tanker...along with the Swordsmen defenses, you have another layer of defenses..PLUS you get a very VERY powerful weapon to use..the blast hammer..which puts both the LP and RL to shame.


184 SP...you'll havethe same 81Sp left over..you can go master medic..or nearly master another profession if you wish (or be like my friend, who dabbled in other Melee profession defenses)


You'll be FAR more uber than a commando....and far more effective for the same SP needed


I know this from experience, a good friend of mine on Valcyn server has a Mswordsman/Mfencer/Mbrawler/TKA+Pikeman Defenses...and is truely uber...


Meanwhile people that take up commando for "power" will be left in the dust.


My Point, and the community's: If we can create far more effective templates, for the same or near the same amount of SP costs that is to even MASTER commando..what the hell is our point to do so? If following your advice and go with Fencer and master other professions to complement...the commando finds himself relying on his other profession's skills FAR more than commando...the Master Commando status at the very list becomes more of a hinderance rather than a helpful part of your template.


Also, saying to grow up and stop PvPing...is like, saying let the game die you know....

I've been a commando since before our very first fix, and I'm not paying $15 each month so I can grind something else if I want to fight...

Man...and I thought Valcyn guys (such as Nitaon) were weird...


Neutron Pixie does bad things to you man, haven't you realized that like 50 freaking percent of Master Commandos are also TKM?

That last part is directed to you. Did I mention in my post that all the people who are allready tk/commando master to feel free to try flaming me, or did you just want to through in the only two cents you have, which @ that are more like paceos (i dont know much spanish, spelling is probobly way off).



Did you notice that all Jedi are at least padawan aswell? or how about all Bounty Hunters can drop all but exploration now? Just a question, are you Jerry Sienfeld, you do make good & funny observasions.

Uhh...we all feel that the profession is currently screwed...I'm technically a TKM who happens to also be a Master Commando that only ocasionally uses his skills because they are useless until the game gets balanced properly.


I really don't see where you are trying to go with this...our defense sucks, but our offense sucks too...you seem to act like our offense is great.


And the TKM part really doesn't help too much when you've got a flamer equipped, I take maybe 40 damage less, and I'm convinced that is because my armor is better.

I did actually"play" my way to Master Commando, and I'm almost certain SOE is at fault... they're trying I guess...


I already spentmore timeplaying my way toMaster Commando than it took anyone to grind Master Fencer, perhaps, yet Master Commando is a FAR infurier PvP professioncompared toFencer. Yes, maybe 81 extra skill points is enough to pick up some defenses, but why do we only get 81sp when aFAR superier Fencer profession, that already has more than quadruple our defenses,gets 158sp to add to their defenses?
