Thread: PVP Sucks any ideas?

God I hate how everyone is tk or a fencer. Theres no place in pvp anymore, its totally ruined. What canI, a commando do in pvp anymore? NOTHING. I hope this gets fixed soon. Every damn person on Naritus is tk or fencer except me it seems. Damn all of you tk-fencers. How the hell are you not hit by a giant wall of flame saturating the entire area?!! MAKE SENSE ALREADY!

I know how you feel. I had to take Fencer to servive in PvP even for alittle. In a few base take downs I would die before I could slice the term. Now I can last long enough to take it down. I to hate having to take another combat prof to survive, in our server Rifleman and CM are kings of PvP.

Pretty much on Tarq as well. Actually one of the main reasons I took TKM was so that I could actually survive in a fight.

You mean my plans to pick up partial commando again for the flame thrower will not be worth it? Not even as a support ability?

Either wait to see what happens with the combat revamp or change prfessions. There isn't much you can do now PVP wise as a commando unless your up against some noob. You can try picking up pistol and use the launcher pistol or picking up rifleman.

commando has no uses in pvp, none at all

try this /burstrun /throwgrenade /flamesingle2 then switch to secondary like tkm and knockdown. use the burst run to get in close quickly and retreat out of knockdown range(practice your timing between specials). This seems to work ok barring a CM spamming you. I figured out why commandos get taken out first in PVP, if left alone we are more dangerous than a CM. Did grenades get fixed?

Ok, I have a question,before coming back to Commando...


Flame used to be a killer, it's hard to imagine it being so impotent now. What is it that has happened to make flame so unfeasible in pvp? Has flame itself been nerfed? Or has people found a way around it to defend against it? And if so, how are they doing it?

Couple of big things changed with the FT to hurt our PvP abilities.



  • Fixed heat resistances so that they work properly with DOTs as well. (Our DOT does less damage)

  • Transfereda lot of our DOT into the initial hit with the FT

  • Weapon delay makes it so that we cant burn and switch to knucklers for defenses (not a FT change but it hurts)

For a quick fix, get a suit of 40% stun comp, aflamethrower with under 3.0spd, and some 40%+ Citros Snow Cake.


Don't PvP without a doctor.

you guys are nuts! I use commando in PvP all the time! FLAME 4 even the Jedi's run! Many players cant heal themselves once they are on fire and unless there is a doc around, they die, end of story. And as far as the TKM Fencers? Their max range is 26m....HMMMM mine is 50m............that means they can chase me as long as they want and Ill toast their vibro knuckle stun baton carrying CORPSES!. Just make sure you get them OUTSIDE! RUn about 20m or so away from them....when they use that stupid Burst run at you run towards them spamming FLAME 2 set them on fire, when they turn around to do the same thing and head in your direction, keep spamming.......by the time they hit you enough, their health is so far gone a noob marksman can kill them. Even if they do DB you they will die anyway...FLAME DOT! If they dont die and you clone, just go right back after them, their wounds are so far gone its awsome. I lost a fight to a guy last night, after I cloned and headed back after him his ham was at 16!!!!!!! thats right 16! I laughed at him and shot him once, delivered my DB and laughed! HE was pissed because I hacked his armor to shreds because of the fire and it took him almost 9 minutes to heal all his wounds....


Just know your opponent....Commandos are lethal!

The elite end of PvP is normally done in squads consisiting of at least one doctor and more than likely one or more CM. These squads are always fully buffed, fully armored, stomachs full, with DOT/stun/high dmg weapons, stacked defenses, etc. Under these situations, it becomes a lot harder for a commando to be as effective as you described. After armor, flamesingle2 will do 400dmg at most if you hit your target. And at 50m range, the dmg you do even with a 1200dmg flamethrower is negligable.


I'm not saying PvP with a commando can't be done (I do just fine ), butwe aren't nuts.

Alright lets talk about it for a second.


Not true at all. Many of the jedi are healers and have very little trouble with our flame. Not including they can block our FT specials fairly regularly. I am sorry to say but the only ones that will run are the very low level padawans.


You are missing something very large here. If you are going against anyone that is an actual PvP template (TKM/Fencer/Pistoleer) then you arent hitting them nearly enough to do what you are talking about. Inbetween maxed ranged defense and dodge you arent hitting him.Run at them! Can you say no state defenses? He will dodge and you will be knocked down and out for the count. What kind of people are you fighting?


We dont have the awesome DOT anymore. Unless you stack then a fully buffed comp wearing temploiter doesnt care one bit.


So what you are saying is that you lost in a fight and then had to resort to killing him due to his wounds taking up his entire HAM? That doesnt make us good at PvP. That makes us griefers.


Sorry man, we arent a PvP prof right now. We dont have the defenses to take any hits. We dont have the DPS to stand up against the riflemen, swordsman. or TKM. We dont have the state defenses to help us not get KD/Dizzy and soon incapped. And when our FT is out, we have no chance at all with the weapon delay put in.
