That we can atleast advance now?

Today's update totally saved the profession for me, so I can actually advance up the tree as well as all of the other updates today.

So lets have it: Whats your opinion on todays patch?

Not impressed. Launcher pistol should have at least light AR to it. Acid Rifle still blows chicken nuggests. Grenades arent much better. Other than that great patch :smirk:

Hay, I got the first special skill for Acid Rifle! Oh, but it misses 75% of the time and I have to wait 15 seconds between use.

Why would I be happy that I can advance thru the profession when there are no bonuses to make it feel worthwhile. I mean seriously, they give us these nifty "heavy" guns that are supose to deal out insane damage, but all they are good for is to trot around town and display it.

Happy? Ha ha ha. I log in, I get Hvy wpns xp. Yay! I use my acid rifle, I to horrid dmg and can kill gorgs. Lol, roflmao.

It's ideal range is 0.0 -- it does horrible damage. It's specials are weak. It's been a waste of time waiting. LP isn't armor peircing, it's trash dmg too. The bleed is okay, but the rest is atrociously bad. My scout blaster still does oodles more dps with double-shot. Yeah, I went part pistoleer, jus' in case. Looks like I made the right decision.

And riddle me this. Ideal range 0.0 but you get -20 to hit. LOL. Hello. Who did the math here? Is this reverse psychology? I mean, you want us to play commando's right?

Well, this patch blows. Crafting stuff is broken, missions now give half-creds like they used to. There goes combat-folks money down the tubes. Considering that we supply the crafters with most their money to get more resouces to make us more stuff.

So, where's the spiral? You hamstrung the commando's. Again.

Should I wait? Or will this turn into the EQ -- Ranger/Paladin class?

I don't think I've heard a stupider statement. A year ago the whiners on other MOG boards were saying, "just you wait until SWG comes out, and everyone will quit!" And now it's "just you wait until WoW comes out, and then everyone will quit!"

Nonsense. WoW will suck too. It's basically just diablo 3. So unless you like the idea of duping on a truly unparalleled scale, buying a new mouse every month, and servers lagged out 3 minutes because so many people are pindlebotting, you won't like WoW either. I think some people in fact only genuinely enjoy whining. Those are the people who spend more times on the forums than in the game.

On another note, Commandos did get shafted in this patch. 0.0 range on a rocket launcher my ass. That's the stupidest thing I've heard since the above WoW thing. My FIST has better range than a ROCKET LAUNCHER. It does more damage too. This will never get fixed. It's working as intended. I'm saying to hell with commando. Fortunately the master marksman will let me easily transition into bounty hunter. It's clear that's what the devs want everyone to play, so why fight it? Mmmmh, bounty hunter.

Actually Torv, if you like to solo anything higher than gorgs, the favored line will be Pistoleer + Creature Handler. That's the only profession out there that can land lethal damage AND handle the aggro from some large mobs. Unless you really like dwarf nuna's...

What really amazes me is seeing their official response to the profession issue.

Summed up it was "we don't care."

That simple. I'm not easily offended, but that response offended me. It was intellectually dishonest. I find myself wanting to believe that it was some sort of mistake. An unfunny joke. I don't think I'm alone in this. It's so offensive that even though I seriously doubt I'll play commando now, it still lingers in my mind like some sort of mental canker sore. Ugh.

Any issue that comes up in the future, no matter how frustrating, now what I have to expect is "We don't care." I like this game, I really do. I think it has a lot of promise, and I'll stick it out at least 6 months, maybe even all the way to the space expansion. But that garbage makes me feel _dirty_. Seriously, that level of dismissal of the customer base makes me feel like I'm being taken advantage of. I don't like it. I don't think anyone does. Maybe I'll have to rethink the 6 months thing after all...

Torv I'm somewhat confused where exactly in my post was this statement? NOWHERE did I say that because I ohnestly doubt I would wait for anything to quit this game at this point Im still smacking myself for spending $65 on this steaming pile of monkey crap. WoW may suck it may not that is an unknown and not proven yet hell im willing to give blizzard a shot butI sure as hell aint gonna wait till it comes out to drop this sorry pos game.
