Thread: Grenades and how we cannot hit the broad side of a barn with them!

Hey all,

Just thought that I would like to point out that a master marksmen has a +60 accuracy modifier for rifle/carbine/pistol... whereas we, as a master commando, only have a +55 thrown weapon accuracy for grenades.

Anyone else see something wrong with this?

--edited below--

well apparently the Character Builder that I was using is a little off but I guess at master we get a +85 accuracy mod. But how the heck does that explain how we still miss 90% of the time?

I have 85 myself. Typo? (I think it might be 55 at Field Tactics IV though.)

Of course I can't hit anything that's not a lair either (or right on top of me), but that's besides the point.

A master commando has +85 to hit, a demolition belt will add +5 accuracy too, new theme park schematic which requires 1 heavy duty clasp.

If your going to post such as this, please get your facts straight.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades..err..just horseshoes.

Oh, and diseases/poisons, but definately not hand grenades, at least in SWG.

Grenades should get an area effect even on "misses".

[other voice in my head kicks in]

...but then to keep us from getting too powerful, let's make misses cause the grenade to go off in our hands and damage ourselves instead.

Yeah! That's the ticket!

...and, and, then let's make misses with flamethrowers catch us on fire! ...with a really cool self-emolation animation. The screaming and cursing ourselves would be cool. Yeah! That's the ticket.

Then let's change the profession title to Kamikaze!

Where did I leave that gas can?!

I remember back when I was in the army....

We did not have +55 to accuracy....But boy did we hit with those things.

I could pretty much pinpoint up to 30m out...when putting my soul into it..I could toss a nade out to 50m..but Accuracy was shakey...

The german army under WW2, with their potatoe masher nades, could toss accurate up to 100m...

And we are in a sci fi world, where wew have starships, lasers, disruptors, droids and hoovering vehicles....And we cant hit a barn from 10m...mostly. And if we are within the blastrange of our own nades..we blow up with them...we are the only ones we can hit with 100% accuracy....

While people with poisons and bacteria, can toss theirs 64m, and have a blast area, sobig, that they can infect people 90m away....And they never miss.

And if they unfortunately, are within their own blastradius, they unlike us, are not hit at all.......*sigh* I should have signed up for the ABC training and unit (Atomic, Biological and Chemical unit)

100m... that's pretty much from home plate to the foul poles in many ballparks. Most men can't throw a baseball that far, let alone a hand grenade. I'm not saying that nobody could do it, but I don't think your average grenadier or soldat was heaving potato mashers at targets that far away. If they were... the scouts for the Yankees and Dodgers would have been all over them to sign contracts.

Makes me wonder why Everyone was so Freaked out in Jabbas Palce when Leia took out that Thermal Detonator. She woulda just missed the Fat Guy, She isn't even a Novice Commando.

I was im Army for 5 years, Grenades are heavy and you cant throw them as far as base balls. Go buy a dummy grenade from the surplus store and throw one. Half a football field about. Also if your not ducking your gonna be hit by the shrapnel. They only taught us to use them in bunkers and or rooms.
