Would master comando and master smuggler be a good template? I figure i could make some money from slicing for people since you can't make money from hunting anymore, and then i could grind FS (once i get it) with comando.

Any template in which you have fun is a good template. I am Master Commando and Master Smuggler, and I like it.

That's my template- short of dabbling wiht the remaining pts.
I'm having a lot of fun with this combo. Running my smuggler trying to build a syndicate and whenever it is necessary popping up as Commando to kick the nexessary bu%%.
Being a Master Smuggler I have a tendency to avoid direct confrontations.
But....
I have been know to die horribly in battles but Hey you gotta learn.

Here is my template, which I have found to be the most fun I've tried to date.... hands down. It has the overpowering features of the good ol' master commando wielding a good flamethrower in pve, and pvp I've found it to be awesome in a group role.
Master Commando (Flame 2 and Cone 2... absolutely devastating on everything from npc's to goraxs... and pvp if your buddy has someone one the ground... goodbye Mr. Bond....)
BH Pistols IV (Eyeshot is invaluable vs. jedi if you get the lowblow kd, which isn't as hard as you would imagine...)
Smuggler Pistols IV (Panic Shot followed by Low Blow is a great combination, but remember to only kd once if they go down!!!)
Pistoleer 0001 (for a bit more speed and accuracy, and good ol' pistolwhip)
Just thought I'd recommend a template that I've found to be a load of fun if you don't mind investing in some good composite and a PSG to help make up for the lack of defenses...

Ya, I did use feign death on a few occasions... my party went down fighting Goraxs when a second one jumped in and I managed to slip in burns and feign before death... paid off with a nice set of bones too! Haven't ever tried it on a krayt though. Don't have that kind of patience!

Used to be easier before. Now they have like 1 gazillion HAM. lol.
Fun on Kimos too.

Actually changed my mind on master smuggler...gonna just get 0/4/4/0 instead, master commando, and then i'm thinking novice weaponsmith or some pistoleer. With novice weaponsmith i can make my own C12, but with pistoleer i'll have an even larger weapon scale to choose from. What do you all think?

If you are grinding, I would probably say weaponsmith I guess? I've never been much of a crafter, but the pistoleer won't really be much benefit unless you pick up a full tree for the defenses or specials... Just my opinion obviously... I say this only because I currently have novice pistoleer and one box just because I had qualified for it, and only those until the revamp at which time I'll probably pick up investigation 3 in bh. If you have bh and commando, you probalby won't need the novice pistoleer guns....

The C12s you'll make at novice will be pants without having the relevant experimentation lines. Go pistoleer.
