Thread: How does this template look for PVP? (thinking long term)

Just looking for some idea's andadvice aboutthis template that I plan on moving my skills towards this weekend.This is for PVP fun and viability in PVE.

PvE it will do fine. For pvp though... we just dont have enough flamethrower accuracy to hit FOTM defense stackers, and any melee profession will tear us up at close range (16m for our specials) due to our lack of defenses.
Jedi I cant hit at all, and the current FOTM-pistoleer-COBmacro people I only hit maybe 10% of the time max.
However the LP does well with pistoleer specials. Maybe master pistoleer would be a nice change to your template.

My philosophy for templates is this: Master your weapons and stack your defenses.
Mastering Pistoleer and taking 3 boxes of TKA (TKA 3000 or 0030 or 0003) will give you move firepower and nicely stacked defenses. Alternatively, TKM and Pistoleer 0030 will give you great offense from the FT and TKA, nice pistol shots and state defenses, and the benifits of meditate and the great defenses of TKA.

Pretty sad your saying I have to pick up Pistoleer for offense and its a Commando template. Just shows the state of the game.

That's a lot of points just to be able to use one line.
Might ditch commando and get more medic. /shrug
The combat system in this game needs the revamp bad.

You know what your talking about is the most important thing to do when a commando "What other skill trees can I add to become a greater victorin pvp?" I spent hours one night on galaxies just looking at all the skill trees to do withthe elite brawler professions to add with my master commando character. Why? Because I wanted an amazing pvp character, I want to take down the melees and ranged enemies in combat. If you know anything about Tka and Fencer you would know that they have great defensesagainstother meleeattackers andalso gooddefenses against rangeattackers. In my opinion Fencer and Tka are the 2 best elite professions when it comes to defense against attacks which make them basically like tanks. So instead of worrying aboutgaining moreweapon certificationswhy not get a great amazing flamethrower or rocket launcher and blow the attacker away, without worrying about his range and melee attacks. So in my mind there is only one solution in not worrying about melee and ranged attacks, pick up defenses in an elite brawler profession or professions. We as commandos already have the firepower to become a great fighter now take the advantage of raising our low defenses against melee and range attackers. Heres some good stats:
Commando 4/4/4/4
Tka 0/3/0/0 or 0/0/0/4
Fencer 3/4/4/0
Trust me I've spent a lot of time on this and I've seen commandoafter commandoget tanked by Tkas and Fencers. And in my mind I just don't want to be great against ranged fighters I want to be great against almost any profession that comes my way to attack me.
Commando has the power to destroy now make it have the power to defend.

The problem is, that in roder to do as you suggest, I would have to take up professions I dont really care anything about :/.

Just wanted to add I took my own advice after searching for professions for about 8 months. Two of my loves... Commando which I already tried, and Fencer which I fellin love with seeing all my guildies try it. And you know what? Master Commando and Master Fencer (all you can get) really kicks ass. You have to understand with commando you can't do everything yourself. But it is great for so many things. Just look for something else that can help commando in some way, and of course something you really love.
I hatebull**edit**ing professions by getting one row etc... and please don't tell me the devs force you too. But sure if you love pistols... get you know pistoleer, bh pistols, and some commando. Nothing wrong with that.
You can always change things around...
I hear dabbling, def stacking, etc will be ending with CB.
