Thread: We all spend the same amount of skill credits right?

It's not that us master commandos mind you dabbling, it is that we mind you giving us a bad name by not understanding the class and making posts like this on our boards. A master commando is going to engage with heavy weapons at range not run in like a dam*ed fool and use the flamethrower specials. BTW my gnarled rancor is also 100% heat resist too, and will tear your n00b pet apart.

SWG isn't just dabbler viable, but dabbler's paradise. Many of the Master boxes, Commando included, do not contain as many bonuses as they should. Smuggler comes to mind as another absolutely horrible Master box.

A Master Smuggler should be better at spices than a Fence.

A Master Commando should be better with FT than a Grenadeer.

A Master BH should be better with pistols than a ...Expert BH pistol whatever...

The problem is many times this is not the case, because Master boxes are subpar.

Thats my point with Master in a class. FOR THAT SPECIFIC CLASS, it doesn't give the bonuses that it should.

a 0040 commando should not be just as effective as a master commando in using a flamethrower.

Why should the master box give all these uber skills that some of you keep crying for?

Master boxes cost 1 skill point and a few easily obtainable apprentices points.

Or are many of your cyber egos just stuck on the whole Master title thing?

Master boxes cost 1 skill point... and 4 COMPLETE lines of that class. You might have a point if all lines were created equal... but they're not, so you don't.

Besides, what exactly is the Master box? It is "tier 5" for the 4 lines of a given profession. I do not believe it illogical that a tier 5 should be without question more powerful than a tier 4. Do you?

Yes master only cost 1 skill point. BUT you have to spend all those skill points to get to master. A master commando should get like +10 to accuracy or something. I dont think it will matter in the. i pray, near future. Just cause a commandos ONLY weapon is the flame thrower. SO we get pissed when grenadeers post stupid comments on the commando class.

The term "master" implies it's a worthwhile goal. I don't think SOE/SWG anticipated ppl to dabble in so many professions, but they created the situation by making master titles relatively useless. If the devs are so worried about the ft unbalancing the PvP landscape then they SHOULD move some of those skills into the master title. The MCH/ 0/0/4/0 commandos would all switch to something else if the ft lost some of it's utility and require master to be effective.

ATM the hardest hitting specials are all a little too easy to obtain....eyeshot, ftsingle2. I'm less afraid of a master commando than I am a grenadeer...b/c I know the grenadeer may have eyeshot, gurreks, or something else up their sleeves.

Exactly Krillin, not to whine, just to state the obvious, any hybrid character like the grenadeer is much more worrisome than any master commando. You just don't know what they have up their sleeves. The Master Commando has one maybe twoskill branchesinour class that are worth anything and they are in constant danger of being nerfed. If the four trees actually worked in unison with a culminating bonus at Master the class would be worth mastering. In other words, for the damage in branch 3 (flamethrower) to be as effective as it is now alone engineer the class to have a corresponding bump in one or two of the other branches, ex: 2020, or 0220. In other words make the class skills interdependent. So for me to be really effective with the flamethrower I also have to be equally effective with the HAR. Just make all the weapons in the class effective. This would have the effect of discouraging dabblers and would make the 0040 dabbler not nearly as dangerous with the Commando's weapons as the Master Commando. Just a thought.

The more this dumbasses talk, the more afraid i am of the real world where these ppl actually work, prepare our food and drive on our streets. Imagine this, this no-sense, illogical, absurd, stupids driving tons of metal at high speeds where u or I drive. But wait, let me try to take it from their point of view. So, if I was a yellow belt in karate, had amateur wrestling skills, and had a pet dalmatian, i should be able to beat a 5 time black belt master in taek-won-do? I mean after all i have more skills in differentattacks and a more varied arsenal right? Or wait, if i was a nurse, who was also a paralegaland owned a strip club, i should be able to perform equal if not better open heart surgery than a surgeon right? Yeah.... so know u guys know why the warnings such as "do no operate hair dryer while in shower", "do not ingest rat poison" are out there for. perhaps the manufacturers should leave this warnings off, that way we get rid of the "logic challenged" population.

By that argument Flamethrower 1 should give the most bonuses since it costs FIVE skill points, flamethrower box 4 only costs 2....

Don't be an idiot, master has requirements of 62 points spent before the final 1 point.. Box 4 of flame is 20 point investment.

You kids are amusing, if nothing else... making comparisons between a black belt in RL to a video game. Just a second, let me open my RL datapad and call my rancor to kill this dark jedi master who just shot lightning bolts out of his hands and hit me for 781 damage in the mall parking lot (the numbers above my head prove it, I swear!)... I bet some of you actually fantasize about burning up theschool bully with your flamethrower.

Play EQ or DAoC if you can't handle dabbling. Master boxes may get more appealing as time goes on, but dabbling is built into this game. SOE encourages dabbling.

Master means just that... you've master all areas of the Commando class and excel at using all Commando weapons. But it doesn't entitle you to be superior to anyone else in the game. Everyone has the same 250 points to spend. You're not special.
