Thread: why in the hell are you screwing comamndo's over devs its goiong to make me quit the game

I mean come on now we cant even land burn 25% of the time. the new loot patch you screw us there. we dont burn people but for like 100 a pop, hell a DOT weapon does more then us. We are the 2nd highest skill point user. SOwhat ARE YOU THINKING.

In theory, the combat upgrade will fix us.

Who uses more points than us, now? BH have the same point cost and less invested in combat skills (MM/Exploration 4 vs MM/Unarmed 4).


I have not had to light anyone one fire lately, did they adjust the burn damage and burn wounds as of late, is it suffering from the PvP reduction now?


Did they stealth nerf the burn resistance on us, I know with the resist "fix" the burns had a minor chance of not sticking, has this changed?


How are we "screwed" in the new loot patch, they amended trhemselves, stating that Commando HW mods would be included, though it is theorized that the skill bonuses may not apply without the changes to combat (due to the new skills being generic, and us still using specific skills).

Jhyson you must not rebemr the 2k burns or how commando's where good at pvp. Burns to hit asmuch. Yes i forogt bh's cost less skillpoints now. They used to cost more.

Actually I do remember when...


It's just that if your beef is with what we USED to be back in "the day", then it's one thing. If the complaints are about something new it's a totally different thing. I doubt we will ever see the day when the commandos burn is back at it the prenerfed level, but we may see it being the top dog burn/DoT once the rebalance hits. If it's not then we better get something else to off set our short comings like addition speed modifiers, improved range,and defenses.

dood, you may not have noticed, but the only good profession for PvP is rifleman, or any melee weapon. i remember when commando ruled the battlefield, for all about 30 seconds of time before we were nerfed beyond belief. your frustrating rant is almost a year overdue. if youve waited this long, just sit tight the last month or so. sign up for the CB beta, and enjoy it when our profession returns to its former glory.


and dont knock the devs, theyre guys just like you and me, but they have to work for SOE, and they dont get to complain. ouch.

Good things are coming...I know those words sound hollow with everything you see today and the lack of seeing what's coming tomorrow, but trust me and trust the other Sandbox testers, we won't always be as sad as we are now...


Every profession is getting balanced in the CU...We are getting balanced and then some...at least 3 out of our 5 main issues are being covered...We'll be stronger, faster, tougher and have ways around our biggest weaknesses...our pre-reqs will have purpose...And the best thing of all in my book...dabbling will make us better Commandos, hence we can finally be 250 pt Commandos...


It's coming...so go signup for the Combat Upgrade Beta if you haven't already...I expect the Beta to be packed with Commandos...


A day is coming where players will see a Commando coming and be afraid...and not just because we cause lag...

Without violating the NDA I'm going to spill which main issues are being covered (by not saying how they are addressed in theCU,I figure I'm not violating anything...I'm mostly repeating what has already been revealed and expanding on certain things brought up)...

  1. With the CU we will see our our Defenses go up to be more comparative with other lower costing professions...

  2. We will see an end to being Kited to death...We WILL be able to deal with Melee AND Ranged opponents with our own Commando Weapons...

  3. Damage Per Second will be a hot topic on the Sandbox as we are meant to be the "Heavy Damage Specialists" first and fore most...

  4. Recently added plans (if they have time) will see our Grenades work in the same fashion and effect as all other thrown weapons in game...

  5. I've said it before, but I'll mention it again, there is a proposal for a new Commando Weapon and it's NON-Consumable and will not be like what we currently have in just about every way...

  6. Our DoT isn't going anywhere...in fact, there is a good possibility that we'll see it turned up in power on the Sandbox. With certain changes going into effect with the CU, an Upgrade Lead Programmer even agrees with me that we have a strong arguement for it...

  7. Commandos WILL last longer in a fight and WILL be harder to kill then we are now...Imagine the damage you could do Pre-Upgrade if you could just last long enough to get off a few more specials...Now imagine if those specials were faster and more accurate...boosts to our abilities combined with being harder to kill makes for a very nice outcome in my mind...

  8. COUNTERS COUNTERS COUNTERS!!!

  9. And as I said earlier...We'll be FASTER, TOUGHER and HARDER HITTING then before...

That's just the tip of the iceberg (and unfortunately, nothing is guarenteed as everything is subject to change in the name of balance)...There is so much more to the CU that I wish I could reveal...and I'd love to expand on what I've posted above...Some people may be asking "If we are getting all that and more, then what are other professions getting and will it put us right back where we are now?"...other professions are currently fulfilling certain roles they were never meant to fill...THIS WILL BE adjusted...Some professions are seeing little tweaks or improvements while others are seeing serious direction changes to force them back into the role they were meant to fill...Commandos have always had a tough time filling our role as we were meant too...The CU is the Devs attempt to rectify that issue...

one quick question garvin, Will we ever be able to dual Weild pistols? Get special armor? do ANYTHING besides the "heavy weapons" that we have?
