Note that I used several different techniques to kill the pikets. From /flamesingle2 and melee, /flamesingle2 and PL, /flamsingle2 with PL and warning shot, /flamesingle2 with PL and suppression fire. Some required that I heal, some did not. None of the techniques I used are unavailable to anyone who has at least Flame 1 box unless you don't have medic, then I might have gotten incapped 1 time. Note that I never had my FT equipped when I was getting hit. Nuff said, we can do it, it just isn't pretty.

Also note Picket Longhorns are AV1 and 75% resistant to heat/acid. 10% resistant to Blast.

Very true, they are far from an easy target to solo with a flamethrower, yet they didn't seem to bother me much.

I am bumping this thread since it seems I have to reference it all the time when I respond to people who say you cannot live through solo fights long enough for mobs to die.

Also would like to add, before you get too upset at the data because I have TKA or CH or whatever, look at all the data. You will see that only in the first couple examples did I use unarmed skills to my advantage. The rest of the kills I used only skills available to all commandos with the exception that I did heal myself once or twice in 8 kills. My unarmed toughness modifier does not get factored in to my damage taken when I have a LP equipped, however melee defense does. Note also that in only 1 example did my health become a major factor and I had to heal or die before the mob died (I was unbuffed with 850 health, 850 action, 750 mind).

I still continue to solo pikets all day long when other classes need CH or a group to do these missions. I have gotten the technique down so well now that I rarely ever take any damage at all, even when I don't use pets. All it takes is a little experimentation and not giving up on the commando class. Post-patch I have died once when I had to stop to toss a grenade (trying to get more combat exp out of the mob) and the piket got close enough that they could hit me and I took the blast damage (3k action while unarmored).

Yeah, 1 other time i hit myself and not the mob.... that goodness it didnt incap me.

Question for you did you ever try this without composite armour on. Not ever player can equip composite armour to the degree you have it equiped.

I didnt get through all the logs my eyes were crossing to much so forgive me if you did do this without the armour.

The reason I ask that is because any new commandos will most likely not have enough creds to buy composite. Only with the nice incentives we get at the higher levels of commandos can we solo missions where we can make some serious creds.

On tempest composite armour goes for about 45k per piece at 50% resit range.

Funny thing happened to me on Dantooine, actually. I accidentally caught a picket with flamecone aimed at some NPC thug, and I got hit holding my FT......... for 119 points of damage. Total was actually 180, my gloves blocked that much, theyre my worst piece of armor, at 34%.

Crazy, neh? I think I'll just keep posting whenever I run into something that seems impossible. Like my wrix rape at 947 points to me, and then this.
