Give the Acid Rifle a DoT like the Flamethrower. Try splashing acid on yourself and tell me it doesn't keep eating away...

Don't give it a DoT, but make the refresh on the specials the same as the LLC. Make it a different weapon than the Flamethrower...

agree with both..


they should make it like llc.. if you add a dot (witch makes sence) it would just be a CC of the flamer..

I don't know what ability the Flamethrower DoT hits...Health, Action, or Mind. Give the Acid Rifle a DoT that hits a different one. If Flame does Health, give Acid Action, or better yet, since it is a 'rifle' it could do mind. Of course if the Flame DoT hits all the HAM bars then I'm not sure what the Acid should do, but I agree it should be different from the Flamethrower.

As I understand it all acid weaopns, except Heavy Acid Rifle, get AP1. If this is a HEAVY version of an acid weaponwhy shouldn,t it have AP3 similar to the T21?

I do not understand why the commando close range heavy weapons have worse armour penetration than many pistols. Sure the extra damage is there to help overcome armoured targets but they just do 'normal' damage which is easily healed. Light penetration pistols which can hit mind are far more effective.

Increase the damage a bit and make it effective at longer ranges, otherwise its just another flamer. I like the LLC because it packs a punch, has AP1 and is good at any range.

Last I checked the T21 was AP3 but only did moderate base damage. The Acid Rifle and Flamethrower does a whole lot of base damage with jack for armor piercing. When total damage is compared they should be causing about the same damage. If the Acid Rifle were to suddenly get an AP3 it would do tremendous amounts of damage that would probably crash the game itself.

I don't like the idea that the Commando weapons don't actually have Heavy AP, but by cranking up the damage they seem to have given them the damage they should have, without the AP.

What I want to see is that super cannon of plasma death that has Heavy AP with 3000 average base damage, only 5 shots per weapon, that could take down an AT-AT in one hit. Of course that wouldn't happen since the AT-AT's armor would drop the AP of the cannon so it would just be doing regular damage, and if they don't have more than 3000 points worth of Health, they shouldn't be AT-AT's...

I like the idea of an acid rifle alot, flamethrowers have been done before. Make it a viable primary weapon!

Acid never gives long term damage like fire. You can set something alight but acid simply eats away as long as it's present. If anything you need to give the acid rifle medium armour piercing to reflect the fact it eats through the armour.

Hello fellow SWG people,


I agree with the DOT as well as having AP3 but i think the DOT should be a little lower than the Flame DOT. Flame spreads over the body where acid just eats into it.

I've said it once in a thread with the same title, and I'll say it again.


I do not want the HAR becoming a FT clone.


Frankly, I'm against giving it a dot, rather I'd like to see it turned into a weapon that has an entirely different purpose and use, preferably a longer range weapon as we are weak in that area as far as chargeless weapons go. Maybe make it similar to the LLC? Although I'd still prefer something that's unique to a clone of another profession's weapon. Give us some variety, we need to do more than just light people on fire at close range and lob the occasional grenade/rocket.


If they get the chance, I'd also like to see it's effects changed to something cool looking, right now it looks like it's a weapon that fires a tiny projectile that's 1/8 the size of the barrel.
