Thread: Combat Balance

Call me crazy, but after this combat balance happens, I have a feeling things are going to be MUCH Better.


The problem is I have little patience, so give me my combat balance now, lol.

Not intentionly trying to sound like a pessimist, but what makes you feel that after the Combat Balance things will be MUCH better?


We've only seen a few parts of the Combat Balance...And so far it's been conflicting and negatively effectiving our profession specifically...not boading well of us at all...


Think about it this way...when the Combat Balance changes were first started we saw the 2.5x Melee Damange Bonus removed from the game...YAY!!! But with Patch 7 they've already announced that Melee Professions with get a hit bonus on Ranged Opponents...BOO!!! Doesn't this sound counter productive to you?


Every response we've received from TH has told us to just wait until the Combat Balance is finished, but look at what we've seen...No more DoT stacking...Our DoT severly reduced...Fire Blankets being added...Upcoming hit bonus for Melee Vs. Ranged...our HAR being fixed, but keeping the same specials and restrictions (something we've been against vocally)...and the list goes on and on...


I can't feel optimistic until we are actually given something to be optimistic about...that's why we've begged TH to give us some light at the end of the tunnel...some glimmer of hope...instead we keep waiting to see what flaming pile of dog poop they leave on our collective door step next...


So have you heard something we haven't?

Still waiting on my 10 questions, maybe we can get a little Juice from there, it could make the glass half full maybe? I'm going to be optimistic until the game ends, because even if something isn't fixed, it still can be... and I will fight for this game to be at the best it can in all aspects

Hey Garvin.


First of all I told you to call me crazy, lol.


I agree that so far we have not seen much to be happy about, but I was trying to look at the big picture(whatever that means) and see that if logic has anything to due here, we are bound for some good changes. Maybe very little at first, but slowly more will come. As I stated before, I have no insider info, nor evidence, but it seems like each profession that the devs concentrate on, gets some good "upgrades". Look at TKA, DE, CM, Rifleman, etc. They are far from perfect, but when the devs concentrated on them they have come out a lot better, and have actually become desirable professions. Therefore common sense says that once they stop at out house, they will be ready to party. (The only problem is that sometimes common sense is the least common of the senses.)


I too have been frustrated, with the rest of the commandos, but I am optimistic about what may come. I may be wrong, but I hope not. We have lost too many friends for SOE to get it wrong. And although we have not seen the response we want, and desreve, I hope for a better future.


I just hope that future is sooner, rather than later.


Also, on an economic point, SOE has got to get it right. There are too many new BIGMMORGS comming out soon, that will gobble up the masses leaving this game, if SWG does not get fixed soon.


Anyway, I may be wrong (like that never happens, lol), but I am hoping against all hope that we will see good things come to our profession. This is the only profession I truely want to play. So if it does not work out . . . Well you know.


And I understand your reasons for not being optimistic. That should be the logical way of thinking since the whole "wait and see" theory has only hurt us. We have seen much "damage" to our pofession for so long. But something HAS to happen, it just has too.


Anyway, thank you for politely disagreeing. We need to continue to back our correspondent, and continue to voice our concerns so that what we see as a great and balanced profession will emerge from the broken peices we now have.

Well, although I posted it here on the forums, I sent this to Just G:

LOL, I didn't do much. You should save your thanks for:


1. Lords - For standing up for us and doing so much

2. Garvin - For being such a loyal and vocal advocate

3. JustG - For listening and trying to help

4. TH - For giving us hope, and being an advocate of the players (Yes, he is trying, he can't always get what he want's either).

5. Every Commando that has stuck in there voicing his/her opinion on the matter and trying to get us "fixed". I can't name everyone, because there are so many of you.



BTW, I will be handing out hugs later, lol.


But we need to continue to work together to voice our concerns and bring them to the table.


Also, please take into consideration that, even though JustG has forwarded this the Senior Developer for this, it in no way means it will happen. That would be great if it does, but do not expect it to. (Crosses fingers).

I beleive combat balance is about half done or so; but I have been pushing where you can't see, and keeping the positive attitude. We are one of the professions being looked at *heck all of the professions are so I can say that lol * but we'll have to wait a bit more.


Just a tip, usually once a Publish hits TC it's locked *learned this before I was a Corr*, so only Publish related fixes... or some major issues that arise are added. Just speakingfrom my experience... and I've been here since a week after they started the forums.... Pre-Beta *man I'm old lol *

Man, I know you are doing a ton of stuff, "behind the scenes", that's why we support you. Thanks for all your effort, and keep it up. We have a lot more to accomplish.
