Something needs to be said by the Devs about the CU, as a guildleader i'm watching the game die.Everyday I see my friends leave to other games (everquest 2 and WOW). WHY? No information only that good things are coming. But guess what we have been hearing that for over a year now. I Love StarWars and the game. But things are broke and we need to know how and when they are going to fix it. The silence will only lead to the death of the game people will wait but they need to know what they are waiting for.

I agree, I helped organize a 70 man strike force today, we came in kicked but, my PvP rateing went up by 50 points, but all the bases were bugged, no point to it all.

I /agree. I want to look forward to all new things in the CU, but since the devs wont tell us anything else than "it will come and it will be good" that's difficult.

I thought id never say it - but i think SWG has gotten old - and im newly back into it.....hope the stuff comes quickly or i fear this game will truly die - just look around at the other forums, its all over the place - servers dying out, population being low at peak times - is this the beginning of the end?

alll you said is true and hits most guild leaders right in the heart. but we do have ways to cope..

having been a guild leader since game launch i have seen my guilds population grow and shrink severall times. i have also lost many good friends to other games, financial woes, or just plain boredom. through all this i continue to have fun because i love star wars and i love playing with my guildies. this has kept us alive as a community when the going has gotten tough. what we may be seeing is a natural part of the rubberbanding process of the population. given time, it may return. hopefully bringing back a couple old friends. i think the people that burn off fastest are those that play the game for gamings sake and never really had a great connection to star wars on their own. this game has a long way to go to find its star warsyness but i intend to be here for the long haul (or untill i'm the last one on the server and they pull the plug)..and i offer the invitation to all my guildies to take this ride together because we are what makes it fun. so wish your friends well when they leave knowing that they are never really gone forever...just one with the force...

p.s. with a new movie coming out what do you bet we see agrowth in the population in correlation with its release?

Hmmmm............The new Wookiee army i'm sure will cause many to become wookiees. But that is my prediciton.

I think the game will live for a long time. I think many forget that there is some major StarWar geeks, and not so major ones like me that find this the closest to the mmorpg thatwe could ever find and Hell, its StarWars, we are not going to leave till they turn off the lights and kick us out.

I love the fact its a sci-fi fantasy. No other game out there that is this way. Yeah, major problems, but major fixes on the way. But, i got bored with the sword hack and slash. I'm not a big PvP fan, and we all know, this game has hugh potential just waiting for Lucas Arts to let loose the dogs.

They are hiring people for a few positions that are content related and more programers. Makes me think they are trying to improve the game everyway possible. There is a bunch of stuff in the .tre files, yes i know, they never promised in the game, but come on. They also said they want to fill out the planets we do have before adding more, and there is already more in the .tre files. Even though i can't see them. I have faith in this game. There is way to many fan boys playing and to many fan boys that are devs.

Its not in the can yet. And every new mmorg that came out, many flocked to it, then many flocked back. So, just because something came out doesn't mean SWG is dead. Its just the normal mentalility of players. Always trying to find there home. I am home here, and so are many others. I would only leave to check something else out if it was a Sci-fi mmorg. So, SWG is so far safe with me.

Not only have they been telling us that good things have are coming for a year now, but people have been making posts exactly like this one for over a year now. I do believe this game has lost a lot of people that would have stayed if the devs would have worked on the aspects of this game that affect the most players rather than low impact items like:

Image Designer revamp (yay holoemotes!)
Droid engineer revamp (did this actually improve droids in anyway?)
Death Watch Bunker (fun if your a melee class, insulting if your a bounty hunter)
Become a jedi once you have some POI's revamp (because this game needed more jedi)

And now we have the loot revamp coming up this next week or so that will offer us.... pictures. I'll bet you commando's are stoked to be getting these new pictures! Who wants a new dungeon or assault rifle when they can get a picture of a rodian in a dance club?!?!

Sorry about the negativity, I would just like to point out again how unfocused the leads for this game are. What is there idea of star wars? We have no idea because they wont tell us anything that we actually would like to know beyond... its in development.

Post-WoW and EQ2 ive lost only 2 members from my guild. In fact we're enjoying more activity than ever before...a good 1/3 of the guild is on during peak...

Unfortunately theres not much to do content wise...so events have been slipping, and as a result we've lost ppl due to that...but not from other games.

JTL wasn't that great for content...we need more ground stuff! The quests are fun with JTL, but it does get old after a while...and me currently on a bugged mission and having no fun at all doesnt help either heh...

It doesn't hold our interest for a long time tho...something a dungeon or something would,

I would have to say this sums up pretty much howI feel. I'm one of the people SWG will lose. I mainly started this game to fight with my friends, they left for awhile because of the bugs, I took up the Holo grind and got lost. I picked up Commando because I was told ifI wanted to fight that was the way to go. WhatI didn't know was The Nerfing the Profession was going through asI grinded Holos instead of grinding Commando. By the time I got to Master Commando it was broke and I 've seen it get even more broke. I stated posting on the forums because I'm bored with the game and would have left ealier if my account hadn't auto-renewed. If you look at my Tag that says it all. I'll be back if they truely fix PvP with the CU. If not well..... see ya later after Dec 10

I wish I could be more positive for you but AS I know the CU will not be anywhere near ready by Dec 10th I will have to say good bye.

All that aside though the CU will be making drastic changes and some of the more major ones will be to youour commando brethern. PvP will never be perfect (it by it's very definition is competitive and someone will always seek the advantage) but It should be much more exciting with many new things that can and will happen. FOTM will I think unfortunately still happen but no one profession will be so uber that another profession well played can not beat it

No major documents about the CU will be released until at least open beta (which I see as about january/febuary range) as most of the documentation is still in flux and many things can and will change in the next few weeks. The sandbox is not ready to go yet so other then speculation not much can be said about how things will change.

Garvin is fighting tooth and nail (and flamer and rocket launcher etc) to help you all and I cheer him for his successes so far.

Be aware that what is consider low population now on the servers was considered High before the hardware upgrade that came in the last three months. Also be aware that more zones on each server further lighten the load on each zone if the population is fairly evenly distributed. - The actual numbers of players has risen in the last three months. Just it is now lots of new players and lifers now not thefickle playerswho come and go to new games as they launch.

Yea, I agree that they desperately need to add more quests/missions. It's all well and great that they are working on the CU, but not knowing anything, combined with the wait and the temptation of another game is not healthy for this game.I don't know what the admin heads in SOE are thinking but I don't agree with their planning or their thinking. Pushing back the CU (revamp) was a really bad idea. I'm sure they saw the coming competition and they wanted to push something out that would keep their player base...but now, it's clear that JTL doesn't have as much content as many of us hoped and the ground game remains a broken mess. I'm sure that their fear of losing players to these new games is becoming true...and forget about attracting new players with JTL. JTL is not for the newbie because they can't afford ships and ship parts unless someone gives them a healthy amount of credits. They should have completed the CU a few months ago before the Jedi fix...and they should have communicated more with us (releasing an overview of the Docs) about what to expect all along. Lots and lots of strategic mistakes. Let's see what happens but if the famed CU turns out to be a bust I'll start to share doubts about the longevity of this game too.
