Gotsome questions for you guys that take TK with comando. Ive been planing on going MTK with Comando but I want to know how well it works befor dropping my CH meaning losing my Sludge Panther.

1. How well does balance help you against stuff like the eyeshots, blinding shots, posture change, and does that protect you from getting kd'ed or get up a whole lot faster.

2. Do you notice having the extra defenses saving you a lot of pain from precision striking. (I know these are getting raised along with adding defensive acuity just want to know how well they work.)

3. To what extent does meditate help you? Does HAM recover faster while using it? Stop bleed attaks? Heal wounds?

4. Overall, do you think that was the best choice for you to take? As in its good for PvE and PvP.

Thanks for any input you guys can give me. My friends are yelling at me for changing my mind all the time saying I should have mastered a long time ago, just know for sure I want comando and keep hope that we wwont always have this damage mod but want to stop dabling here and there not deciding which way I want to go.

I'm gonna bump this because I have the same plan as you. My end toon will be a Master Commando/Master TKA and have smuggler dirty fighting 3

It looks good on paper anyway.

I'm a few boxes away from mastering both TK and Cammando. I love the combo. I walk around with good comp and my VKs in hand which keeps me alive through most any attacks. This weekend, I went hunting with about 10 other people on Endor (Gorax hunting, which I think don't even spawn other than for a quest, but not sure). Our group was attacked multiple times by the high level NPCs that are on Endor and they would come in and DB more than half the group each time we got attacked. They would come in an melee everybody to death. I lived through every attack and most of the time I hardly took damage. Trick is to walk around with VKs not FT. Cammando weaps are just for support now, and I love being able to pull out weapons that do such good damage, but also being able to stay alive becuse of melee toughness from TK.

I will have to switch profs soon, becuase of Holo's but I will make sure to keep as much of TK and Cammando as I can spare. I will definitely keep the combat xp trees which are so hard to advance in.

I don't know about MTK stuff, but I thought I'd add this.

If you were having second thoughts about dropping CH because you don't want to loose your GSP, you're going to be severely limited in the future. Remember those big CH changes TH posted about a couple of weeks ago? With them, you're going to have to have all the tier one boxes and two tier two boxes in CH to call a GSP. If you Master commando, you'll have a grand total of 2 skill points left over after you get all the CH skills you need.

So if you want your GSP, you're going to have to be a commando and a CH exclusively, with no other side skills.

I'm not there yet, but I'm now heading up the TKA tree along with getting Master Commando soon...my reasons are what's sitting on TC right now...if it transfer's over as is, Melee and Ranged Defenses are going way up for a TKA / Master Commando combo...and if you throw in a little Pistoleer, you can easily have over +120 Melee Defense and some serious Ranged Defense as well...So I'd say it's a good combo now...it will be a GREAT combo soon...imagine what you have now and make yourself even harder to hit (almost double that difficulty)

I have noticed getting up much faster. I also notice not getting shot as much when running unarmed.

2. Do you notice having the extra defenses saving you a lot of pain from precision striking. (I know these are getting raised along with adding defensive acuity just want to know how well they work.)

The extra defenses save my bacon soooo much. Unarmed toughness is by far the most useful in PvE.

3. To what extent does meditate help you? Does HAM recover faster while using it? Stop bleed attaks? Heal wounds?

Meditate can be very misleading. Many people state that it regenerates HAM faster. Please do not be fooled. It regenerates at the same rate as sitting does. As far as healing wounds and stopping bleed/poison/diseas it is an amazing skill to have. One thing you will grow to love is powerboost which will take half your mind (temporarily) and add it to HAM for about 5 minutes. I use this all the time and my stats look like this after powerboost 1450/1350/1500. Another skill that comes in helpful in PvE is Force Of Will which will enable you to get up from incapacitation. It does drain all your HAM to 1.

4. Overall, do you think that was the best choice for you to take? As in its good for PvE and PvP.

I think it works great for both PvE and PvP. Just remember if people kite you in PvP, use your rocket launcher to teach them a lesson haha! Just remember to do what you like to do best. I like to watch the TKA moves fire away as I pull out my flamer and do a fatty "Yoga Fire" at the end. It's cool because it looks like I am punching and headbutting as I am spewing fire.

My friends are yelling at me for changing my mind all the time saying I should have mastered a long time ago, just know for sure I want comando and keep hope that we wwont always have this damage mod but want to stop dabling here and there not deciding which way I want to go.

Just remember you control your toon, not your friends

Hope this helps,

right on, Master commando and TK.

try a macro for Knockdown; equip FT;flamecone2;equip VK. seems to be very effective in PvE 8)

and yes the ranged and melee defence works well.

Since I started SWG, there are 3 things I truely feel are the best skills/modifiers in the game: #1 Flamesingle2, #2 Fiegn Death, #3 unarmed toughness. No matter what my holocrons tell me to do, I will never play a non-Jedi character without those 3 attributes again. For the record, I was CH 3312 when I finally decided to get rid of the lame ass pets, and I could never be happier. Pets are the worst part of this game, and now I just use my carrion spat to sit off on the sidelines and cheer for the group exp bonus. When I start following my holocrons, I will be maxed in pistol exp, HW exp, unarmed exp, and combat exp. When I am done with my holocrons, I will return to being TKM and Smuggler 0010, but commando will probably only go to 0040 unless some changes come to the profession. However, I will never see CH exp again unless I see my holo say so.

Thanks for the info guys. I think thats definately going to be my final path. MTK and Master comando and that leaves enough for Novice scout and explor 1 I believe. Want to make camps still so I can store my mount when I get to a battle location and be able to get it back out along with just a slight bit terrain negotiation for while fighting. Also I collect hides and sell them when I get a few thousand built up. I sell cheap, usually bout 1-3 creds per unit. It isnt much but if you can do it might as well.

If you are going to do some PvP you might want to consider doing Novice Medic instead. I know having zero terrain negotiation is unnattractive, but healing with some top notch stim B's always reassures my decision of going Novice Medic with First Aid 1. Then again I always end up having much pain on hills

TKA/Commando = only commando that can solo.

Commando gives you access to heavy AP weapons and high damage dots (tka will outdamage the flamer special2).

TKA will give you the toughness to 'tank' mobs while the flame dot kills them off (and your fists helping along) and most importantly, TKA meditation is THE reason to be tkasi.

Healing your own wounds, curing poisons and diseases..buffing yourself. Thats a self-master doctor in just 1 tree. Nothing beats this to operate for long periods of time in the field.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

I'm a Master Teras Kasi and a few acid rifle boxes from Master Commando; with DF3 in smuggler.
So far I love the combination. Feign Death plus Flame-DOT is amazing. Throw in Master TKA and you're an absolute death machine. Low-Blow also gives you that precious time to catch up to kiters.
Do I miss Exploration? yes. Would it be a million times easier with a Poke-Pet like everyone else has? yes. WOuld I trade my badass soldier for anything? not on your life.
