Do you guys see any similarites ?

I know.. I know.. where I get the screenshot from ? I saw it on another link posted here...

The darn thing is, I am hearing from the people on the otherforum post, that this weapon is called the Itimidator, and is actually a pistol !If it is, then that is the biggest slap in the face for the Commando Community.

GARVIN can you please see if you can find out any details into this matter..

First, only the art for these weapons have been released in pub10 (so far).

Second, that it says carbine and pistol doesn't mean much. The flamethrower and HAR is classified as rifles in the *.tre files.

Third, since no certifications are in the publish, how can we now these are not the new Commando weapons?

We are certified with pistols and carbine thru marksman, and these might be for us.

Last, if the underslung carbine is not for commandos, I will be pissed. That is a commando weapon if I ever saw one.

We'll see. Too early to say yet. We don't know if this is for real yet.

Your correct Perzmo..

Its to early to judge anything without seeing some stats and certs for the new artwork. However out of all the new weapons seen on that link, the Intimidator appears to look likethe DC - 17 , and honestly looks like a traditional basic weapon. Nothing overly fancy, or totally far fetched for Star Wars.. I can see a platoon of Commandos running around with Intimidators, I cant see a platoon running around with Flamethrowers, or Launcer pistols.

However what we need is a entire skill tree to go with this weapon if it is for us.. Because as beautiful as the new weapons may appear, they are all pointless without being granted accuracy mods, speed mods, and specials to use them.

It's my belief the picture gun in "Intimidator" is likely the Merr-Sonn IR5 "Intimidator" (a pistol designed to fire at a high rate of speed, think machine pistol), not a DC-17. That being said they already have many fast firing pistols/smaller rifles classified as carbines in game anyways.

P.S. 4 of the pictures I have seen, favor existing artwork/visuals of "Merr-Sonn" manufactured weapons, introducing a bunch of new weapon/weapon schematics as all coming fromone company is likely a decent way for them to toss them in without have'n to worry to much about continuity (not like they have before anyways).

All I can say is I've heard nothing...if we were going to be receiving new weapons I believe I would have heard something by now...Usually when new weapons are coming into the Game the Devs give the Correspondents involved a heads up so they can get ready to test...None of the Correspondents have heard anything about any of the items that have been "discovered".

I've made several posts in the Correspondent forum asking for some type of Confirmation on all these rumored new weapons and components people have been talking about. Hopefully I will hear something soon, but in the mean time I just want to ask that you not get your hopes up to high (I'd hate to see them dashed)...

For all we know, there is a very good chance that these new weapons are artwork for future publishes (not specifically publish 10) or are for NPCs since their artwork/weapons share the same .tre files...Popular belief is that even the "cybernetic" arm and hand is not a PC enhancement but rather art for new NPC content...

It's good to hope, but until we have any confirmation I will continue to believe it's all speculation and rumor...Hopefully I will hear back soon regarding their validity and as soon as I do, I'll let you know what I can...

You are absolutely right. I say we wait for pub10 to grow a little older. As Garvin said, this might be for another publish.

Wookiee armor suit 2 and 3got pushed to TC with pub9 the same way. Schematics and such came later.

As much as I would love for these weaps to be specifically FOR Commandos, it is IMHO, that these are for carbineers/BH's...

First and foremost, Commando has NO skill specific tree beyond Master Marksman for ANY of these weapons...A near total revamp of the Commando skill trees would be required to work it in. The only way it would work for Commandos is to have them be hella accurate and fast out of the box to take advantage of the measly skill gained in the Master Marksman trees. Unfortunately, this would make this weapon in the hands of a Carbineer unbalanced in terms of damage output.

It would be counter productive (not that this wouldnt be the first time) to make them certified for Commandos, but require using up even more skill points going up the Carbineer/Pistoleer skill trees.

The simple fact of the matter is that Carbineers have received ONE additional weapon since launch, and it was the Nyms slugthrower. Rifleman have received a few new weaps (DSXR6b, Berzerker), pistoleers have received a couple (Geo, the new D-10 or whatever its called).

Commandos WILL be able to use them, but at the cost of MORE skill points.

But Commando specific? Nah.

Patch 10 will come and go, and we will STILL have one viable working weapon (albiet with substantially lower speed and accuracy across the board than any other prof) in the form of the Flamethrower.
