its a good combo

rifle = shot..........................heal..shot..................................heal.............

I prefer Pistol over all, not just because I'm a CM. Pistol gives me the bleed shots, and close range shots. I prefer that.

Neither. Carbineer gives you range, damage and great knockdown shots at pistol speeds.

I like honestly pistol...but I use health poison c when soloing missions and then I target a mob and hit it with /healthshot 2; /healthshot1 macro. With all those hitting the mob even a 10k ham mob drops fairly easy.

I use pistol because ot its speed, when I'm in a group it helps me shake off the enemy quickly and conentrate on healing rather than focusing on killing.

Well it would really be a personal preference I guess. Alot of people are saying that speed is better on a pistol. But IMO if you are in a group rifles are better especially in a group of rifemen. As far as speed for a rifle goes.....Use a Spraystick. They don't have the best damage (best damage i've seen is 201) with a 2.0 speed. That is actually faster than most stock pistols (which average about 2.5).

However, here is where your problem sits. When does a CM usually get hit in combat? Ranged and Melee both. Which is harder to pease out of? MELEE. Ok now look at the statistics. A Melee hits you for 300 points of damage. You armor stops 150 of it and you take 150 points of Health. With a pistol it is the same. HOWEVER, with a rifle you take 2.5 TIMES the damage from Melee. So in Melee you get hit for 300 points of damage your armor abosrbs 150 of that but YOU take 450 points of damage.

Believe me I was heart broken when I had to lay down my spraystick for a pistol but in the long runthe pistolhas kept me standing and healing than on my back watching the incap bar tick away.

MCM go Pistol (heck any melee class with KD would work). Master Doc go rifle and remember to unequip the bugger if you have to charge in for heals.

Pistol for sure. I had novice rifleman and got novice combat medic and the fact that rifleman specials use mind and healing used mind it just isnt a good combo. Also, the guy who replied before mentioned the whole you take more damage with rifle which is a big deal as well. Also with pistol you are fairly close to the creature so you can catch all the melees who are taking the brunt of the damage with your ranged stims.

Funny, I have an opposite opinion.

I like rifles alot, and feel they go well with combat medic provided you don't spam specials, and stay in a kneeling position. The range of a rifle is far more appropriate for a CMs ranged healing, and from kneeling you can stand up (automagically) when for the healing toss.

Doctors need to stay right next to their patients, who are usually the brawlers or pets tanking close to the beasty. A range much more appropriate for pistols.

In pvp don't bother with a weapon except to suppression fire someone (once) to slow them down while you run away and let poison eat their brain
