Thread: I'm going to surrender Combat Medic... this is why
There will be many considerations about why surrender a profession... Main consideration I did before surrender Novice Combat Medic is:
Why, when I took an elite profession, i have to rely almost on skills and abilities of corresponing base one? ![]()
When I took Novice CM I was thinking that, with ranged heal, I will be able to heal for an amount equal to Master Medic, but at increased distance, with distance increasing with CM levels...
Instead I am capable of heal at a distance just a bit greater than Master Medic for a value like that of Novice Medic! ![]()
Yes, you say that 15 meters are enough... but consider that in a combat all players are running up&down (without consider the warp bug), and if you want be succesfull in your healings you can't think to stay at 15 m from the others... main time you will be at 5 - 10 m or much more than 15 m.... moreover, when you heal a player who is betwen 5 and 15 meters away from you, you heal him for less than 100 points!!!!!
If I'm at least Novice CM phreaps I'm fighting mobs that do much more 100 damage per hit...
About Poisons I don't have anything to say... they are absolutely unusefull at all, so there is no consideration to do about...
Combat Medic is a nice profession, but it is usefull only if you are a Master, and, for an elite profession, it's the same to say totaly unusefull!
This are my 2 Eurocents opinion, btw ![]()
Hey.
I don't know what level you are in CM, but I'm almost master and I can throw Ranged Cs up to 30m and Area As up to 20m and healing radius is 15m, And I still don't have the advanced stims... (**edit** crafting xp).
And my Cs can heal up 600 hp, area up to 400 hp.
I agree they need to boost CM at the novice level to be online with the other advanced professions. I wouldnt give up CM just because its lacking at the novice level, it rocks at the high end ![]()
bleh, i dunno if i really want to spend all the points it takes to *master* combat medic
I have been a Master CM for atleast 2 months now. Yes it is much nicer at Master level and I think it should be that way. Maybe people feel this way cause most other professions don't give much when you Master them. This helps keep the dabblers out of our professionand only the ones who really want to be a CM in. When you get Novice CM you need to realize that unlike doctors our skills don't continue on from the Medic profession.Maybe it is just me buton my server there seems to be a sudden glut ofNovice CMs. I attribute this to the fact that Poison works very well in PvP and people want to be l33tPvPers. I expect SoE to do something in the near future to tone down our poison effects in PvP but we'll have to wait and see.
For others out there just starting; If you really like the concept of Combat Medic then the way to level up in my opinion is to get Master in the Support Line, followed by Distance, then Healing Speed. Of course during the whole time work on your Combat Medic Crafting skill( which will lag behind a good bit :smileysad
. As you progress you will be able to heal entire groups up with one stim or toss a long range heal on someone running from something chasing them. You'll be able to help your group take larger mobs down a little faster by applying a poison appropriate to the groups capabilities.
Im not quite a master cm yet only because I still have to finish the crafting tree.
I use my ranged stims c all the time. I can throw them approx 30-35 m away and get full heals on them. I do use advanced comp on them. I was able to get all my med exp for cm and for doc hunting with a group of usually around 3 or 4 people. being able to stand about 30m away from the group and heal them is very invaluable. Mainly cause most times you wont get aggroed on so you dont have to worry about healing yourself and also if a person does get incapped (mainly cause of loss of mind) you can drag them to where you are (although you will have to move up a bit to be in range of dragging) this way they can regen their mind back where you are and dont have to worry about being aggroed as soon as the incap timer runs out.
Tampaxhoney,
