Thread: No poison/disease while incapped!

So I manage to get caught in an Imperial raid on Coronet the other day. Little old me vs. 20 or so Imps. Boom, incapped in about 5 seconds. So I'm lying there waiting for the DB, when suddenly I get "You have been given disease," "You have been given more disease", etc. And of course, no DB. HOW LAME IS THIS? In my personal opinion, CM's should not be able to apply poison/disease while you're incapped. Too much of a grief for my tastes.

Oh well.

Disease is nothing but a grief tool.

No its not actually its a smart tactic..By applying disease to people you are causing them to be injured so they cannot effectively reattack or join the battle if their health is more than half filled with wounds due to a disease. Lots of people claim its a griefing tool because they are kept out of commission for a while, but thats the whole point of being a CM keeping people out of a battle long enough to win. Whoever thinks its purely a griefing tool is not a CM and is a griefer themselves..

Without disease it's impossible to win the battle with the revenge TEF.

Even if they Diseased you while you were incaped it doesnt wound you unless they let you live. Its fine the way it is go whine on another board Gimp.

and Covu wins the prize for a well stated argument. hes right, in the current state of pvp there are 2 ways to acheive victory: have an overhwelming force of numbers, or wound your opponent so much that he/she cant effectively fight anymore. until revenge tef is removed, disease while the player is still alive is a valid tactic. however, the fact that you can disease or poison a corpse is rediculous... i've done it by accident with aoe poisons, but never on purpose as thats a huge exploit imo, and never with disease, since i cant use aoe disease anyway (thanks devs)

Yes I agree applying poison and disease while incapped is not fair. However if I do it while in a battle, that is fair game. Chemical warfare is a nasty thing and this is our shining weapon. I for one never throw poison or disease on a incap person...Now I have done it on a smuggler who faked he was incapped...course he is my rl bf too. Should have heard the lively discussion that we had after that.

Ya disease is awsome, and a lot children use it to get a good laugh. I wish there was a way to develope a mentality check for these people who abuse it.(the ones who will get it nerfed intooblivion)Only time i use it if for revenge against BH/Commando firegriefeor to crowd control TEF wars.

it doesnt matter if you get it when your incapped or not, it doesnt go into effect until 3-5 minutes after you get up anyways, so go to a med center and get cured, thats why theres doctors right?

In Nam the enemy WOUNDed people in order to take more soldiers out of action. Killing is not the only way to win. It is not a griefing tool, unless you are on the recieving end

Even with Disease and Burning (or ANY heavy wounding) it is Still imposible to win any PvP Evcounter. Even AfterCompletly Blacking out the mind bar somone can still just walk into a Fully stocked cantina and be completly cured in like a minutes....and then back in the battle before the revenge tef wears off.

Even afteryour Revenge tef wears off, you can still get back into the fight with nothing more thena stimpack or the/firstaid skill.

Disease is perfectly Valid.

No im afraid it doesnt work like that.

If you are crafting decent disease packs they should tick your enemy to 100% mind wounds within 5 minutes. They can go into the cantina all they like but if the disease was good, it will last them atleast 15 minutes. The disease will wound them faster than they can heal it by watching entertainers. Keeping them at 100% mind wounds for atleast a good 10-15 minutes, sometimes 20.

Best tactic for mind disease is to administer poison first, run away and evade fire until they incap, and then disease them while they are on the ground, and then run away. This will ensure they do not bother you for awhile. Not many docs are prepared to heal high end mind disease. I can barely get health wound heals let alone find a master doc to heal mind disease C.

I always mind disease on my enemies and I never DB, as it would waste it, and let them revenge TEF me. It might be a griefing tool, but it makes me feel better knowing I upset my enemy as much as they upset me. Call me ruthless, but thats how the game is meant to be played IMO. Hit them fast and hit them hard. They would do the same thing to me if they had the chance.

As for diseasing corpses...I dont like that. But if the person was really being a jerk and griefing me in the first place, then i may 'accidentally' disease their corpse.
