being new to cm, i am struck with this question why people use these high tick poisons and not high tick disease? my reason for asking is because it seems even with a poison tick on someone they still have ample opportunity to heal/regen the mind with blue milk or whatever. last time i checked no one can heal wounds on the fly in the mits of battle...so why poisons over disease? again,i am new to cm so bare in mind. thanks.

disease tickes every 40 seconds which is too long, especially in PvP if they have a good Doc with them its cured in less than 10 seconds where as posion ticks every 6 seconds I think it is.. so you can usually get at least one tick before its cured.

also PvP you can only disease original mind amt -1 so your avg PvPer would only take a max of 1099 poison can take it all

PvE disease stacked with poison is awesome

with disease you are limited by the original HAM stats. With poison you aren't. Also the time difference, with the way fighting is now, by the time 40 seconds are over, the whole battle/fight is done.

i have the all time solution to your question!!! use both. I start with poison and then disease. Both around 600 ticks...so in a way its like a 600 strength fire...lol just works slower...if they can't heal it, and i die...it will end up killing them anyway. Tested this on a buddy of mine (we arent the same faction so i laughed when he died) my template is master swordsman/4004 CM. So im a melee CM. Mainly for hunting krayts and NS but in group pvp it works great as support. Land both poison and disease and you got it made. Only people that i have found that can beat me are Mdoc/ ??.. When they can heal it ur fight is over. So basically Dont pick between poison or disease. Use them both.

The big difference is the slow timer on disease as people have already pointed out. I would add that damage is designed to be healable in combat and wounds are not. So stims are designed to offset the larger damage ticks from poisons.

Of course the initial design has been blurred, both through the use of in-combat wound healing techniques (squad leaders and meditating TKMs) as well as change in late beta that made mind damage non-healable by stims.

Is targeting mind secondaries with disease ontop of the poisons the most effective strategy?

There are those with loaded guns and those who dig. You, my friend dig.

I use to do that sometimes when I'm greatly our numbered, I would use halva boming to hit seconderies, it helped slow down the raiding parties power if they didn't have as many docs.

Moral of the story... kill the docs first.

If you go disease, go with a lower tick when you are trying to incap someone. I made some high tick disease, and it only takes 2 ticks to get full wounds. I used to to get the cheap incap by doing the poison/disease trick but once the person has max wounds, that won't work. Some of the imps I fight, namely the jedi, let the wounds max then they don't have to worry about my disease anymore. So I went back to a lower tick. Also the main reason I throw secondaries, is to make em have to get some major healing before they can come back to the fight. With some black bars and messed up secondaries, they can't do much out of the cloner or after being rezzed.

The other plus on lots of different mind wounds, if they have a jedi healer, it will use up alot of force to heal em, making the jedi vulnerable as well. Thankfully it looks like our disease will play a bigger role in the upcoming revamp, I can't wait
