Thread: Calls for CM nerf

From a certain robe wearing forum....



Now don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for a nerf (at least I don't think I am)on Roots, Snares and Mezzes, but I do believe their current implementation leaves a lot to be desired. In PVP these affects are extremely unfun to play against. Just like pre-Cu dizzy knockdown. Once you are affected there is nothing you can do about the effect and little skill or risk is required on the part of assailant to apply them.


Ok sohow can they be improved so that they remain a worthwhile skill, but still fun to play against.

Ok the first thing is the effect should last for a random duration (keep the average duration about the same as the current duration and have a random cooldown as well. If I daze someone or confuse someone I should not know exactlyhow long it will last.

Their should be recovery skills that can be used against these effects butthey shouldnot be guaranteed to work and should have a cost and a cool down. I also suggest some form of active resist skill that be can used prior to these effects being applied. The resistance should lower chance for effect to be applied and/or reduce duration but have some other trade off like lowered accuracy or defense.


To make PvP based on skill it has to be about reacting to changing circumstances. If combat becomes a simply process of running a couple of macros and spamming F1 F2 F3 rinse repeat then combat is no longer based on skill. The current degree of certainty with regard to these effects and the complete lack of any risk in there use makes them a predictable no brainer.

Just to make things clear. CM's get no defenses.. we get heals. CM's Dont get super powerful attacks we get dots. as for the snares mezzes and such.. alot of proffessions have the same thing. smuggler (concussion shot) = Paralyze. Other proffessions also get snares and roots. Warcry.. slows combat speed. CM is balanced. The only people crying nerf for CM is the ones who suck at fighting them. Makin recovery skills would make cm useless.

rolf. Take a toon with just master cm....Then pick another combat profession other than doc...Who's going to win?

Other than maby a ch any other combat prof can out heal our dps with just basic everyone can use stims and food....What your mad about is people using their full template to beat your jedis full template and cant take it.

Jedi started off with permadeath and nobody complained untill everyone had a jedi. They are not suppost to be half of the croud in any pvp event. Get over it...There are only a couple ways to beat a full template jedi that is not stupid. What you want is an i win button...well those games are single player im sorry.

Would it look bad if I went over and gave those whiney babies a bloody nose?? .... and insert their lightsabers into a place even Yoda wouldn't be able to extract it from?


Do they get a special tree skill in moaning? I'm sorry but I grinded hard to get my MCM a most of us did but I don't go on and moan about wanting the Jedi's skills to be nerfed, or removed, or for us to have an "Acme anti-saber shield" to protect us. We have heals and dots, that's it and we have to get very close for those to be effective so we are open to get sliced and diced to deliver them!


Can't they just be happy that they get most of what they ask for while every other profession gets forgotton by the devs?

Im a MBH/MCM/carbines and I enjoy the good debuffs I get with MCM.....its a fun prof that adds to my roleplay as well as my template. Im tired of the endless calls for nerfs as well,l seems anyone thgat can even manage a jedi 1 v 1 has nerf calls placed on them..../sigh

Combat Medic shouldn't be nerfed because some other profession seems to like it in combination. If you don't like dying to a CM, change YOUR template. Every template combination has strengths and weaknesses.

Nerf? Not likely, we need more to actually balance. Our paralyze has a 10m range and is the shortest of all mezzes. We got stealth nerfed on it already, it is barely long enought to get 3 debuffs applied and not nearly long enought to escape with. Now those precious jedi can apply stasis well before we get close enough to paralyze, and it lasts considerably longer.


They are taking away our ability to attack cloaked jedi, which is pathetic, since there is no defense whatsoever against cloaked jedi.


And infect is still worthless.

lol no need to nerf cm its not our fault that few jedi go for total heal which removes all off our poisions and debuffs appart from rupture

you want to be able to effectivly fight a cm? you gotta pay the price for doing so somewhere else.
