Thread: Throwing Mind Poison into a Med Center
I know all is fair in love and war... but throwing mind poison into a mind center and poisoning your colleagues seem a bit unethical.
I was in the Med Center in Coronet with a group of Medics healing everyone who came in the door. Some obviously Rebels such as myself other neutral and I'm sure I healed some Imps. Obviously I healed someone who had been fighting with another Combat Medic and received a TEF along with several other medics.
Next thing I know we are all mind poisoned. First off let me say I do believe at the very least there needs to be some better animation when this happens because it was not clear at first what had happened. At least until I saw the red dot on the edge of my radar.
A CM by the name of Sekir apparently felt it necessary to throw a mind poison into the Med Center. Seems a bit wrong to take out the very folks healing your comrades. I realize we were also healing his enemies but it seems a bit wrong to take out a group of fellow medics.
I'm not bitter about this, like I said earlier all is fair in love and war and he did not DB anyone. I'm more curious what others take on this is.
Sounds like casualities of war to me
All seriousness, you were healing the very guy the CM was gunning for. It's not like he knew you were a medic, you just showed up as a red dot on his screen, probably thougth you were part of the original Imp group. It's happened to me, I've done it to others(not on purpose of course).

I believe Sekir is an Imp CM. So, being an admitted rebel, by healing the rebels he/she was probably fighting with you automatically got a TEF.
Is it wrong to throw mindpoison into the medcenter? No. It is war after all.
The problem isn't that you got poisoned(although I do agree a better animation for it would be nice), the problem is you have NO clue what you did to gain TEF or when it occurred. There needs to be some indication that you are under a TEF and some form of warning prior to gaining TEF that your actions will incur one.
I headed into BV one night, since it is the closest city to my home, and apparently there had been a battle between imps and rebs. I began healing some imperials as I headed to the cloning center to re-set my bind point(just got back from a trip off-planet). As i'm running into the cloning center, with nothing but blue and purple dots on the radar, I pull up the radial on the cloning terminal. And the next thing I know the blue dots go Red, I start getting hit by blaster fire, andend up cloning. And all this before I got the chance to select that center as my bind point, so i cloned with wounds.
I didn't even realize I was under TEF.
I got killed fair and square, no qualms with that. Just wish I knew that I was under TEF.
i might be wrong, but Sekir is an Imp Master CM/Master Doc that regularly posts here ,)
hey Michael, you did not DB anyone??? ,)
It was a good tactic if you look at it from the simple fact he took down four Rebels in one shot.
My PA also has the same code of ethics we do not attack in places of rest or while someone is loading at a Starport or Shuttle.
Obviously if you openly involved in a fight with someone and they duck into a Cantina or Med Center they are free game. Only that person or those that help them are targets.
Usually it's best to avoid hanging out around Shuttles and Starports especially if you are actively looking for PvP.
I usually wait to see movement and then the gloves are off.

Problem with someone loading into a starport is how do u tell if they loaded in or not? You cant. My PA leader sends a tell..."You there?" They answer "yes", then he says " K good cause you are about to die" ...lol
LOL, that's a good way of handling it

yeah thats decent way to handle it.
The other day, I ran up to a shuttle. As I was buying my ticket, both an overt imp and an overt reb loaded in. The imp loaded up first, turned around and blasted the reb before he had finished loaded in. That would seriously piss me off to get loaded into the world and find myself incapped on the shuttlport stairs....
TEF status needs to be more pronounced.
- Some kind of visual indicator when you have one, so you know to be a little more cautios.
-Some kind of warning when your about to get one, like from healing someone, so you can choose whether or not to continue healing.
i usualy handle coverts with TEF's the same way.
what i do not handle the same way is people loading overt into a starport. they get a poison or a disease as soon as i am close enough.
simple reason:
you don't travel overt into a town that is supposedly controlled by the enemy unless you are coming to stir trouble.
i have no problem with rebels traveling from Rori to Corellia overt. Rebel Outpost -> Moenia -> Coronet and you are there, only using places controlled by your faction. same goes for Imperials and their towns.
but don't travel via Theed as an overtReb and expect to go through unharmed.
don't travel through Moenia as an overt Imp and expect not to clone.
and if you don't want to wait for the 1hour timer to run off, simply ask a friendly thug to send you to your clone center.
