Thread: PRE-19 Medic, Combat Medic and Doctor Healing Guide (outdated)
THE BASICS OF HEALING STAYED THE SAME, BUT THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF HEALING INCREASED.
PART I - Bacta Shot
Bacta Shot is the most basic of medic heals, available at novice medic. In the tests summarized below, Bacta Shot was used with various modifiers and at different skill levels. Each data point is the summary of 25 heals (except for food tests which used +50 Thakilto andincluded 10-12 heals). The droid used contained a +110 medical module. The numbers in parenthesis are the percent increase of the base case (no modifications).Doctor was not included in these tests, since they use a different version of Bacta Shot (Improved or Advanced Bacta Shot); those results will be discussed in Part II.

***The cap on bioclothing mods is +25,asdiscussed by the devs and supported by this data.
As shown above, the increase in Healing Efficiency through clothes and food makes a HUGE impact for low level medics, but has barely any effect for the MCM. In all cases though the droids significantly increase the heals (25-100%). The practicality of using droids in a real setting is questionable though, because of the fragileness of droids on the battlefield.
For those interested in mathematical formulas, it was found that the above data had an excellent fit (R2=0.998) to the equation,
Heal = 140.85*ln(HE) - 146.88,
if the +5 heal efficiency point is left out (it seems artificially high?). When this formula was applied to solve for the effective HE of the droid data, it was found that in almost all cases (the +5 data being an exception) that theapparent Healing Effectiveness was 2.5x that of actual. Consequently, I believe that is how droids are functioning, by increasing the Healing Effectiveness by 150% (2.5x multiplier).

Fantastic work Matta! The community really appreciates all the testing you do. Lets try to keep this on the front page as many new CM's ask questions about how to be an effective CM and this will do much to help answer their concerns.
It is curious how much a droid helps and I doubt that is working as intended. Though I guess because it's so difficult to use one in the wild, the reward for doing so should be greater. Also, I wonder if the dev's look at the bio-modded clothing as something for non-masters (since they can't wear fully mitigated armor) and that is why there is such a huge decrease on returns. If that is they're reasoning, I would say it is faulty because the price makes it more something masters can afford than someone still doing their grind. I don't know.
Great info, though. Keep up the good work! Now to just find some BE that make the stupid enhancers!
Must get myself a droid with more that 79 health now(like my current med droid - hehe)

From a MCM point of view who has access to a MDE what type of medical droid do you think would be good for combat. Meaning what modules do you feel are most important. I am trying to get a feel for this becuase its so new and even though i am throwing what i believe to be weak area sprays (750 power/effect) I could use a helping hand from a good 110medical rated droid. But the next question is with an advanced droid i have access to several modules and none of them have to be crafting anymore. So what's the real need of the MCM. Maybe a combat droid that can harvest fire off a ranged attack? Let me know what you think.
As an MDE with zero access to the servers and nothing but time to wander into the CM forums, this info is AWESOME.
A couple of things with droids that I've noticed after the CU.
1: They actually regenerate pretty fast. (plus supposedly the autorepair modules are working again)
2: It looks as if the bacta "spells" work on them.
So you could go with an R3 with room for six modules.
one 110% medical module
two auto repair modules
three combat modules.
Not only does your healing get better but you can actually heal your droid better as well.
Or any other type of option. Add storage for the storage impaired, or play with the auto repair/combat ratio for greater tanking or greater DOT.

Sssssh....you're not supposed to mention that on the forums. It will get nerfed.

But great info.... now i just gotta find a MDE on Sunrunner to make me a new r3 medical droid... my current one with a crafting module would be cool if i crafted ![]()
