Posting this in all medic forums too good to pass up

Last night guys,,i couldnt stop laughing for about 30 minutes before the server came down.

Here is my adventure.

Let me set the sceen,,,,it's late evening and the med center is packed of course. I'm sittin there happy as a clam just healing away and chargin an arm and a leg for prefered treatment. (about 1200 for full heal). Along comes this guy and he's absolutely begging to be healed asap. He has full black bars but mind is full,,ya you guys know the type. They never seem to learn. So i take a look at him and explain my policy of charging for prefered treatment and say if he's interested, he can be next after the guy i'm working on.

WELL,,HE JUST EXPLODES

LOL it was as bad as a child who doesnt get his way. He's saying all medics should burn in hell,,there is no way us money grubbing asses should get paid, I was a complete ass and will never see any of his cash so i should heal him asap. LOL i seriously think he was trolling and trying to get a rise out of me.

now for the best part

In my med center,,,yes my med center,,i lead and everyone groups with me. I train them for free if they all chip in when i need training,,It's a good system imo. Well every medic is on my team and i tell them all to ignore him,,and they do. Now it's my turn to have fun with him. I calmly inform him to go sit in a corner and he's grounded for an hour. He wont of course. I then inform him that all medics are unavailabe to heal him now so he might as well go invest in camps hehe. He really loves that one. And here is the best part. When i have him just a steaming...i start blowing him kisses and hugs...i then inform everyone in the med center to do the same...they all do. He's just a flying off the handle and telling me i'm a complete ass and i should "fouk off" so i then proceed to ask him some very personal questions. Did youget dropped on your head as a child,,you really should get that foaming at the mouth checked.,,,What's wrong,,ohh i know you need a hug. I then continue to blow him kisses and hug for the next 15 minutes till the server crashed. Dam i was hoping to go for a couple of hours.

Ohh welli'm sure ill see him again hehe God i hope so

CerberusX (and all other aspiring medics/combat medics/doctors), not asking for payment/items in exchange for healing is a bad idea (IMHO) and I'll explain why: Tipping is almost the only way medics have to get credits at all. All the stuff you need to make medpacks/stims costs money, and unless you're an artisan too, you have to buy it. Mapl3 is doing it the right way. If there is a line of people waiting to be healed (like there almost always is), the policy is simple. If you pay, you get to go to the head of the line. This encourages /tipping but also doesn't blow off poor folks who just need a little healing. You'll get to the charity cases when the paying customers are all done. Without getting paid for medical services, the medic profession will never work as a viable Player profession.

I'm not being too picky for a bit.. I've met enough people trying to drink "elixers" to heal their wounds already (the nectar drink you start with is what he was trying to use)

I don't charge for my heals, but likeI always say, I don't sit in med centers either. I figure if you want to spend your playtime "On Duty" in a med center taking care of people, darn right they should pay up.

Long as the medics don't expect me to put in time there, we'll both be happy as peaches.

i dont charge a credit for healing in a clinic. like a poster before me said, i'll take donations and tips if the person getting healed would like to give, but otherwise i take the exp as payment and being happy that patients are well, patient and polite to me while i do my work. as for the only way making credits, i have never spent a credit on my profession, maybe 1 or 2k on training but that was always paid from what tips i do get. i survay all of my own materials and craft them myself as well, its a longer road, but rewarding for me. but to each there own, we all play for our diffrent reasons and have fun diffrent ways. as for rude people, well they just dont get healed by me.

I never charge for med services I accept the xp for payment. Most people will tip you for services anyway. I don't pay for training or med services other than tipping. I get plenty of creds from other endevors so I won't have to charge for med services.

I started off as an Artisan and then trained in marksman and medic, Makes me pretty self sufficiant, I make all my own heals, I usually don't heal my own wounds but let the medics in the Med center do it for the XP and then do some healing on others myself. I have never asked for money from anyone to be healed, I even make medpacks and hand them out. Way i look at it, I can go do missions with my friends and heal them and fight along side them and get a bit of the cash there. Its a game, and I just want to have fun.

However, I do not take a bunch of crap from people in the med center yelling to get healed, and making a big scene. This seems to be a problem, and uh, this game just started. So people better curb there tempers cause I am not going to just heal you cause you yelled. Be lucky to get healed at all.

As for Medics not being a prominet Class..... seriously, you are joking right.....I mean have you ever played EQ......That's like saying, We don't need no stincking Clerics!

I agree that a good pay/tip system is if you pay then you get to be healed first... good encouragement to earn creds. im thinking of making a combat medic, i would certainly go that route. but i also would still heal players if they dont have much cash to offer. friends of course always free =)

O cmon guys it isn't like we HAVE to get paid I mean so far the highest tip has been 50 and I'm fine with that, cause I know that I'm not just ripping people of their money even though I'm doing it for no cost to me.

Are using tend? That's a completely different story. Once youhit B or Cpacksgetback to us. Those cost a heck of a lot resources. So you are absolutely wrong about healing at no cost to yourself. You can't do it for free without power gaming to supply yourself or having a PA back you. It just gets worse the further up the line you go.

Why is it unreasonable to expect payment? We are just like crafters and they sell armor for thousands of dollars.
