Hey folks...

Just wanted to let you all know, we didn't get either of these items. Both are going to Doctor.

The Area Cures require one of our subcomponents, not sure about the Innoculations yet.

But there you go...

Here are the patch notes:

  • Doctor: Added point blank area poison & disease cures for Doctors
  • Doctor: Added new Doctor Disease & Poison Resistance Buffs.
  • Misc: Poisons and diseases no longer automatically hit, but now have a chance to hit based on their potency. Most current poisons & diseases will affect the target a similar amount of time. The resistance effectiveness of the Poison Resist & Disease Resist Buffs will reduce the chance of being affected by a poison or disease. There will always be a 5% chance of being affected and a 5% chance of resisting no matter how high the resistance or potency ratings get.

  • Link to the Doc thread that has the schematics: Here

To create a balance between number of needed docs and CMs. If you give them to CM, CM becomes even more so the most needed profession in the game.

What can I say people this is a big blow for CMs, not only does this batter your main offense it alsotakes defencealmost completely out of your hands. As a Doc I'm really sorry about all this, I would have prefered we got innoculation and you lot got area cure.; perhaps a spell on TC will change things.

    Seems really unfair.

You know something, as a person that is both doctor and CM, I think this is great. Only reason I became a CM was for the healing ability anyways, and if I do use poisons and diseases it is in PvE.

Maybe now PvP will come back to life. The reason most people on my server stopped PvP was because of CM's with uber spider venom enhanced 1100 tick mind poisons.

This bothers me a ton. SOE dropped the ball once again.

CMs have trouble making money with their own profession alone, the resistance buffs would have fixed that. Doctors already have their money maker. BOTH professions are supposed to be MEDICAL. I feel BOTH need a good way to make cash. This is an issue CMs have had for a long time to. A Simple fix was there and they didn't have the common sense to put it where it was needed the most.

I don't understand why Doctors would get area anything, as in my mind it's been CM who had ranged and area things and Doctors who had to get closer to help. I thought CM had "special" and extra training for this, skillpoints it took us that Docs didn't have to spend. This wouldn't bother me so much if we hadn't had to earn extra things to be a CM, but we did so it does.

Out of the two I guess it's the resistance buffs that annoy me the most. I also wouldn't complain about the area cures at all if they made it so we didn't have to learn that branch in marksman. It's bad enough if you want to be a combat character cm you are forced to go with one of the three ranged professions. What if we wanted to go with melee? We don't even have that door open where docs do.

I can see all of this luring people away from CM to Doc and newer medical people just going straight to doc over cm now, with no question.

Excuse my language, but I'm frankyly ticked off. What the hell was SOE thinking, or were they even? *mutters and stomps off*

Can you bring up the bug where the target gets the "you have been poisoned" message even when they resist? If they don't fix that, everyone will complain that the new to hit formula is broken.

Yeah it's great a doc supports us. I have BOTH a Doc and CM, on different servers so I know how easy it is for them to make cash just sitting around buffingGranted gathering materials is a pain but you can buy them and still buff at a nice profit, I know because I do. I would like to use the the person or persons who made this final call on docs getting resistance buffs in my next target practice (in game)

I collected all the materials for my CM and crafted her own packs myself and for all of those skill points and time spent gathering resources, I couldn't make cash with her. All I got during pvp was whining and trash talking so I moved to another server. That's when I took up doc on my second character.

Oh well, another reason not to get jtl for either account. One step closer to cancelling one or both accounts.

I was going to say something cynical(not aimed at you), but instead I'll just say yes. I will bring it up again.

we have here probably another demonstration on how useless are all the good and propositive discussions done till now. The devs are going (and probably will continue to do) whatever they want, no matter what.

At least i really hope that those new Area cures won't get a range over 10 (seems quite not probable tho, a full experimented Dispersal Mech. in Area can reach something like 20), and that every inoculation pack will need a FULL pack of poison (not just the standard CM components) making them pull specific end not stackable.

But what i know for sure is that i won't surrender CM in any case. I love this profession, no matter how the dev will butcher it.
