Thread: About Area Cures and Innoculations

I rarely complain about anything in this game.

I think the fact that they gave the area cures to docs was a little wrong, but now I read this on the doctor forums:

"So far with B packs I have the range to 19m, since I am missing some of the resources for C's I can't see if the range gets much better than 19m. " - written by leafthemedic in this thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=doctor&message.id=60884

If they kept the cures "point blank" as stated, that's one thing, but the fact that they can be made ranged, clearly takes this out the doctor's realm and into the combat medics.

I really think the devs messed up big time with this, making a CM component an ingredient is not enough in my opinion.

this is gonna hurt pikemen and dot professions too--the potentcy on those weapons pales by comparison to adv cm packs---those 70% potentcy weapons are gonna go down to 5% pretty soon

Those are pretty obscure resources! Lol. It'll be fun for a while trying to find old stocks of them.

I'm disappointed that doctors get area cure without need ranged support...but I can see the balance issue. I'll be interested to see how the area compares to CM poisons/diseases....and to see how much affect the dispersal mechanism makes. I guess I'd better start making some max-area Dispersal Mechanism runs so I can make some extra cash!

Ouch. With area curea docs are now stepping into our turf. Everyone is just gonna huddle around the doc. It wouldve been much better to give it to CMs. If we could do that, it would take away a round of offense (throwing a poison)to subsitute it for a round of defense (healing a group of teammates). This would reduce the overall amount poison/disease damage that will occur in a battlefield, which i'm sure would make everyone else happy.

Sounds like a novice smuggler with a bomb droid is needed...

Just FYI :

"Point Blank cure is centered around the doctor and cures anyone within a certain radius of that doctor using the cure. An AOE cure radius for a B pack was made with 22 radius using an advanced dispersal mechanism."

Disagree totally 100%. CM's will still be very very useful in PVP dispite all the changes. Just now CM/RM combos won't be so uber in PVP.

You CMs need to stop crying. Its your fault that PvP is destroyed, I dont care if the DEVs gave you the ability to throw huge unblockable poisons, or for you to corpse bounce or w/e. This is a huge change for PvP, and it might just be the breath of life that PvP needs. And Im sorry that you dont have a source of income without your innoculation buffs, but big **edit**ing deal. You are a combat profession, make money like any combat profession. Sure, you're also a medic, that HEALS in PvP which is COMBAT. /rantoff

What can I say people this is a big blow for CMs, not only does this batter your main offense it alsotakes defencealmost completely out of your hands. As a Doc I'm really sorry about all this, I would have prefered we got innoculation and you lot got area cure.; perhaps a spell on TC will change things.

Seems really unfair.

Gift.

Agreed.

Frankly I don't want to deal with AOE cures. This should be you perview...not mine.
