Thread: Is crafting really too slow?

Excellent list of top 5 issues posted in another thread, but:

> Crafting is too slow.

Is it really ? At advanced level I bought 2 cradles of 50 liquid packs each (so enough for 50 ranged stims or 100 regular stim Cs), and by the time 70 out of 100 packs were gone I hit expert (20k craftin exp). I watched numbers a little bit and basicly I was getting 200exp per pack.
That means all to reach master medic I only need to make 150 packs.
While it is a bit costly (I buy all materials on the bazaar), it's DEFINETLY not time consuming comparing to most other proffesions, or even with Ranged Support 4 prereq.

I think doctors and CMs are spoiled by fast medical exp growth. You need 50k medcial exp for each of the last 4 boxex - I got 50k in 2 hours group heals. Find me another elite/hybrid proffesion where you can get master box filled in in two hours.

exactly so what i am saying is either scaled the med xp up or the crafting xp down, whichever but balance the trees right now too many people sit on 3 full trees and a 1/2 full crafting tree...

i know i have been stuck on the my last crafting box for a while...

and i know many people that are as well...fact is CM has 2 major humps, crafting xp to master CM crafting and ranged support mastery...

all that work and what do we get for it? crappy dots

Too slow? I made expert to master in 1 day, try making expert to master investegation on the BH profession in that time...

You cant seriously propose this as an issue for the devs, we are the fastest leveling hybrid-profession in the game. If you hit level 4 in the other skills 1st its because you chooseto advance in them first, rate of advancing in crafting over timeis about the same. if anybody are even remotly entitled to complaint about crafting xp its the docs who need a lot more than we do to make master.

nuff said.

I'm currently working on my Expert CM crafting, and I don't think the crafting experience is slow at all. I only craft meds every few days or so for maybe an hour or two at a time. It's been easy going. I think I actually spend more time getting the 950+ OQ resources and advanced components rather than actually sitting down and crafting.

I have never, ever had to grind medicine crafting, and I don't see myself having to do so at any point in the future, either.

Well, being Master, i don t really care about the craft issue all is done through a factory. I can't stand clicking the box anymore, even crafting schematics makes me puke.

But why the hell you want Craft going faster if you got no use for the advanced Stuff you will craft ?

FIX this first. AE Pack of all sort need to be fix, I can tell you already AE Heal will be more than useless, i can heal a full 10 guys group as easy without it now. AE Poison... well, i'm not even bothering with these...

No more PvP for me. if there s a Doc around i ll just give up on healing and just babble with the group.

CM is a good social profession

Doc with a line of Range on CM will do the job WAY better than us

And no, i won t turn doc, i ven t signed for that.

you can see this issue either way.. crafting skill is going up slower than the med exp based branches.

while we were stuck on a grind for the combat exp to get Novice CM, many people are now stuck on the grind on medcrafting exp to get Master CM. doubling the exp requirements for the medicine branches or halfing the med exp gained per heal would both do the job.

For all those that hit master very quickly early in the game, that includes me as i master doc crafting fairly quickly.

We had the benefit, and i know most of us did use it but not all, of full xp generated from factories. I know that would run 1000 becs and then afk survey next to my factory and come home a few hrs later with enuff xp to go from expert to master doc crafting...

now that this route is gone...

so yes crafting has significantly slowed down (lets not forget the removal of UXP for self made components).

Those of us that hit master crafting early had many many extra bonuses to crafting that are not not available to other.

Hence I notice that this was an issue. Also I am experincing this problem now crafting from expert to master CM crafting without grinding and making packs that I either need or am selling. And im telling you it is very very slow.

for more on my thoughts on crafting read this thread

How to do it nice and easy:

every time youre stuck for waiting for a shuttle you craft 10 bio eff.controlers, 10 liquid suspentions, 10 chem.release' s. (4 crafting tools and this is done in 5-6 minutes)

when you exit the shuttle you head for the nearest PCS and slap 10 Stim-Cs together in Practice mode, total xp from this should exceed 1500 easily.

practice mode= grinding...

we are trying to figure a way around grinding...

as a medic most people find that crafting keeps up with stim use...

past master medic, stim use is not as fast since packs are better...

hence now we need to grind....

Combat medic medicine crafting is a proverbial bitch. The only thing thats preventing me from reaching master is the fact that i still havent hit expert crafting. When you only get 70 exp from each ranged stimpack you make, its a real pain, and since they removed the self use crafting exp, its become even more of a pain. Ive reasorted to crafting a bunch of stim bs and stim cs and just running around town giving them out for free in hopes of getting some more exp.

It may be 200 if you add all up, like each component is like 30 exp, so 90 there if it uses 3 comps. , plus the 60 or so at the end, that's about 150 total exp.
