Thread: Is crafting really too slow?
This is what I did to get that last 17k of crafting xp I needed for master CM. And granted, it took me about a week, but I also wasn't spending hours on end killing my wrist and crafting...
1) Made all components for the most part in factory. Exceptions: Sometimes I made my own Chemical controllers and I always made my own Solid Delivery components.
2) Hand crafted about 20-25 stim/wound packs a day and put those on the bazaar. I made a little cash and some xpeh too.
This method easily netted me about 2k a day (some days more, some days less).

how fast did it take u to cap out the other 3 trees of CM compared to the week it took u to crafting 17k worth of stims?
A little over 3 weeks I believe...but I also would go out to the tusken raiders and heal like crazy. So I levelled up pretty quickly there. And then other days, I did nothing but going around and tend harvesters. No xpeh for me.
I won't disagree that we can level up in medical xp very quickly if we want. You can do it pretty much without trying. I think the speed at which we can level in medical xp makes the speed at which we get our crafting xp seem excrutiating slow. But I'm not complaining. I manage to master CM in a month. And while that is slower than some, I still think that is pretty darn fast to master a profession.
I would full agree that CM is one of the easier professions to master with the huge amounts of med xp we generate...which is why im more for increasing the the med xp requirement of the other trees to scale it with the crafting tree rather than reducing the crafting xp...its just the fact that so many medical professionals sit on 3 full trees in their profession for weeks before hitting master...so i agree that crafting seems bad because of the speed of med xp. IN fact if med xp was scaled to crafting xp, you would find that would bring our class in line with the other on time required to reach master
i had enough crafting exp to get the first lvl of combat crafting + half of lvl 2, before i even reached combat medic.
crafting is fine for us
the first level of a advanced medical profession is actally xp accumlated at the master medic level while gaining med xp in order to purchase novice doc/cm as a result it is still in balance with the skill progression that occured over medic leveling where its almsost universally accepted that xp between the trees is balanced.
the problem begins to occur when master medics begin usinghigher meds that heal for much more than at medic level with many more charges...hence the lag between packs used and packs made becomes pronounced and med xp and crafting xp lag
AH, i see how some could find that slow then.
I'll agree with you that more med exp should be required, and not crafting xp be sped up.
