Thread: About the 75% PvP Nerf Rumour in Pub9...

Just logged off of TC. There was asolutely no reduction on poison damage at all.


Just wanted that to be clear to everyone



(did go looking for Khragons thread, but it seems to have poofed...)

so wait. combats medics dont have the 75% damge reduction like everyone else does? why not?

Yes, don't worry. You will still have the ability to effortlessly ruin pvp for the other 95% of the players.

NO FREAKING WAY , I WANTED THAT 75% REDUCTION FOR CM'S, but then where did i even read there even was a 75% reduction? hum [ tries to find it ] oh well.

/sigh, another few months of PvP ruination. I thought fora few good days that PvP would have a chance again. Any word on Halva at least getting a nerf?

The devs stated time and time again there will never be a 75% reduction for two reasons.


- The damage from our poisons and diseases are on a healing platform, think of it as negative heals. Giving us a 75% reduction would nuke our healing ability as well.


- Even if poisons and diseases were not on a healing platfom a 75% reduction would lower our dps to almost nothing, 12.5 dps for a top of the line non venom 250 effective aoe poison (my non certified pistol does more) . Not only would this kill any viable pvp abilities but pve for use would be non existant.


Its been said many times, be patient and wait for the combat revamp. Heres some things for all you complainers to look forward to : )


-smugglers are getting mind poison mittigation spice


-mind will be more easily healable


-no more 90% res armor or 3k buffs so every class can finaly pvp


-no longer will cm/rifelman rule pvp, it will be jedi

Maybe after the combat revamp, but thats how many months away? With a 75% dmg reduction sure, the DPS on a single poison won't be the highest of any profession, but then again you can stack it nicely. Still a nice constant stream of damage against someone who has defenses, armor, psgs, foods, ect. Are CMs supposed to be the end all combat profession? I think not. Wouldn't it make more sense if guns were more powerful than poisons? I'm pretty sure I didn't see or read about any battles being won by biological warfare. I just want this game to go back to where people shot at each other, where it was fun. Isn't that what this game boils down to? Fun? 95% of the players in this game agree that poisons are not fun in any way, shape, or form.

Id be happy for now with the proper 64m range cap working, a max limit to number of targets that can be hit with 1 AOE, and the AOE not going through walls, at least until the revamp.

Sadly, I don't think any of that will be fixed until the Combat Rebalance
