This goes out to all the Holocron Chasers. We see a lot of threads asking how to get through the profession quickly. For the most part this will apply to getting through Doctor as well. Granted this will likely get lost in all the other posts but thats out of my control.

You will need two types of experience, Medical Experience and Medical Crafting Experience. Having been through the Medic profession you should be familiar with the general sources of this experience so I'm not going to detail that, just how to get it.

Lets start with medical crafting experience, this will be your real grind. Its tedius, its boring, and it takes bloody ages. Currently there is no way around this.

First off, Factories do not give experience at all. I don't think this is currently on the development plate to get fixed either. You also don't get experience for players useing your crafted items. So pretty much all the easy routes are out.

You can try and do it honestly, just getting the experience making what you need for yor game play. It works, but definately incredibly slow. You finish all the other trees long before you get the four crafting boxes this way.

Used to be crafting Advanced Biologic Effect Controllers was the way to go since it gave an abnormally high amount of experience. I beleive it has been adjusted to give a lower amount. From this I suggest grinding on regular Biologic Effect Controllers. They only give 35 experience each, but they use few resources (6 organic and 6 inorganic) and you can use dang near anything to make them. Get your self a few crafting tools and work away.

You can highly automate the process with a macro. I've had mixed results personally, it used to work great now it falls apart on the /nextCratingStage. Some people still get it to work, there are a number of threads devoted to this so I'll just give the outline of the macro if you want more information run a search for "Crafting Macro" in the thread title, you'll get plenty of results.

/ui action toolbarSlot 12 (first toolbar slot second row, place your crafting tool there)
/selectDraftSchematic ## (the number of the schematic in you datapad, you'll need to experiment with the # of the BEC)
/Pause 3 (Gives you three seconds to load your resources, just double click them)
/nextCraftingStage
/nextCraftingStage
/createPrototype practice no item
/createPrototype practice no item
/Pasue 2 (pauses for a couple seconds before the next tool opens)
/ui action toolbarSlot 13 (second toolbar slot second row, place another crafting tool there)

Repeat the macro for all the toolbar slots you can get crafting tools for. Just to let you know more than 4 crafting tools is over kill. By the time you get the fourth tool making a BEC the first will be ready to use again.

Just buy yourself a tone of junk resources and grind out your crafting experience. There really is no way to get this done quickly any other way.

Medical Experience is the easy one to get, and can even be fun. The best source I've seen for this experience is to be in a largely player group. You don't get experience for healing damage in pets so leave them at home.

If you are seeking ultra fast grind methods to getting the experience here are some suggestions.

1) Get a fairly decent melee class character to attack something he can't really kill. You sit back and fire stims at him until his/her mind his wiped out. Wait for him to regen and repeat. Aside from waiting out the incapps and possible clones its a pretty effective way to do this.

2) Have a pet diseased then spend time curing the wounds as they accumulate. Not a very fast method since there is a long delay between wound heals, none the less it will work.

3) This may be the most effective, if you could afford a holocron you probably have some armor. Loan the pants to an entertainer, this will wipe out his/her action regen so that bar will drop like a rock while they dance. You sit back and stim away. If you can keep up wit the action healing the Entertainer can go non-stop. This may be the best method for gettign the experience. If you can find someone grinding Musician or Dancer you'll make a great team. Though you may way to try /tenddamage instead of stims since it gives you mind wounds that the Dancer/Musician can heal to add to their experience.

Poisons unfortunately are not a good source for experience. You can apply the poisons to a mob and get a single dose of experience per application. They dont' stack so I've never tried applying the same poison type to a MOB, it might be possible. Your best bet is healing players though, especially since that can be done in a relatively safe environment.

Hey, great post. After hundreds of dead force sensitives and field marshalls, I finally found a holo and it told me to first master CM. Your information on the profession is appreciated.

One small item to add...when you are able to make and use area heals, head to a busy cantina. Area heal, area heal, area heal. You will burn through the medical XP faster than you can toss the area stims; and dancers will kiss on you and love you long time for the healing!

You forgot the now fairly common tumble to standing routine. One person has a macro:

/tumbletostanding;
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlotxx;

Then you have a macro:
/healdamage;
/pause 30;
/ui action toolbarSlotxx;

You'll need to /dump every now and then for training, but with enough stims, you can train entire trees in nearly no time.

Yes, this is extremely cheesy and quite probably an "exploit". But, since this game has nothing to do with Star Wars, and everything to do with a neverending treadmill grind, any method to speed it up works for me.

Area stims really are great for grinding XP--I made 9K in 20 minutes last night in the Theed cantina. (I was trying to figure out when I'd cap XP and actually have to advance up the speed track ) Two other notes:

1) If you have a friend who knows tumbletostand this is a great way to make XP. Have him/her chain several tumbletostands in a macro (I used 5 when I was grinding Master Medic, you may need more or less, depending on how good your stims are) and then insert a wait for however long your recycle time is. So the macro would look like this:

/tumbletostand; /tumbletostand; /tumbletostand; /tumbletostand; /tumbletostand; /pause 5; /ui action toolbarSlot12 (this assumes the grind-damage macro is in the SHIFT-F1 position, alter to suit you target. To stop execution type /dump)

2) I've heard that /nextCraftingStage has been changed to /nextC but I have yet to try it. If someone gets a chance before I do, please post and let me know if this works. Also, DO NOT try to grind near a crafting station--the option of experimentation/schematic messes up the macro. Just sit in a quiet corner and grind away.

Both good suggestions, I completely forgot about tumbling. May as well add that whatever person is doing the tumbling start in the kneeling position. Normally when you tumble from there you won't move, otherwise be sure you are facing a wall so you don't go very far from your healer.

I certainly agree with Greeblesnort these are mostly exploit type suggestions, including the bulk of my post. Possibly should be marked in the reports to the developer, specifically the macro abuses which can be used in just about every one of these methods.

To be honest I didn't really think it a good idea to make this post. But we see these questions constantly and no one is really holding back this info so its hardly secrets. The way I view it let the Holocron chasers get in get through it and get out so the dedicated Combat Medics can get back to our profession.

I have a faster way for Medical EXP...unless its been fixed / nerfed...

Grab 5-20+ of your close friends, toss a Master CM+Doc in the mix to train you fast, and tell them to all pile on top of each other and have all of them spam /Tumbletostand while you hammer them with AoE stims...Much Much faster then camping a Medcenter or Cantina

/nextcraftingStage works...but it has to be spelled with only a capital S.

not so true with the poisons i gathered the last 11k med exp i needed with one area poison c toss. i poisoned 63 individual npcs in some dungeon type area at 188xp a pop. this could be done after you finish the support tree(which i think is mandatory) and you have someone craft you area c's that you can toss with combat med use of 75. bling bling

ya...did this in the droid caves on lok...if your on my tarq i can send you the waypoint or you can just talk to Nym and get the quest that sends you there. but they are packed deep and you can get a ton of xp poisoning and healing melees there.

As for the AE's in cantina...i only used them when there wasnt another medic in the room healing for xp...cause we do still the xp with AE's and we dont need the bad press ...especially since there are better ways...like the ones listed already and another is to get a group of mainly players (melee's are best, and carbineers are a close 2nd) and go do money missions on dant or dath and you'll get plenty of xp...got allmy cm med xp in 5-6hrs on endor this way.

Also if you havent seen it AE poisons do stack with singles...so an AE health and a singular health will stack for damage...if you want to test it yourself...toss the AE then wait till it ticks and toss a single 4secs later...you'll see both tick seperately....so it is possible to get close to 1k in poison damage a tick

Agreed on the area stim in the cantina suggestion. The first time I threw one in the Coronet cantina I just about wet myself. Around 1200 xp off of one stim. Just one word of advise. Other medics are going to be in the cantina trying to get medical xp too, and sometimes they can get testy when they realize you're able to take all the xp in one shot.
