Thread: Now that CM's are nerfed, it's time to nerf the source of the problems. Docs.
Now that CM's are thoroughly nerfed and all balance has been shifted to the Doctors, we need to take a closer look at Doctors for balancing. I started a thread on the Doctor board suggesting a change to a x% increase to base stats rather than a flat out buff ammount. Please drop by and give your input. With a change to the Buff system, combat would be dramatically different, and would once again allow CM's to use Health and Action poison/disease as a viable option in combat. All the problems people had with CM's were a direct result of Doctor's being tremendously overpowered and negating all attacks against Health and Action.
PS. I am a full time Enhance crafting Doc, and a long retired CM.
This is coming from a Doc too. It's bad enough having a million people ask for buffs, I dont want people asking for resists too. It should never be "Lets go find a Doc for buffs and Resists", it should have been "Let's go find a Doc for buffs and a CM for resists".
A Combat Medic is still a medic, whether you like it or not. Buffs are a long term service, you go see a doc long before you go into battle. Innoculations should be short, something applied to the group mere minutes before they go into battle. That's the role of a CM, to tend the troops directly before and during combat. Doctors are the healers after the combat is over, or long before it starts.
But none of that changes the fact that buffs are extremely overpowered, and the devs have stated buffs will be brought in line with the Combat Balance. What the community needs to decide (since buffs affect everyone) is how buffs will work, a % increase of your base stats is much more logical and diverse than a set X amount increase on every stat.
But since your two line opinion and arguement hinges soley on calling people names, it's obvious you haven't put much thought into this subject

If you knew about combat medics, you would know that they get the same mission payouts as a novice marksman. If it makes you unhappy that CMs are applying pre-combat medicines, roll up our own CM and don't apply meds pre combat. Stop trying to tell CMs how to play their own toons.
Sorry to burst your bubble that wedo nottake as gospel how you think CMs should be played.
It's combat MEDIC when we have DoTs then its COMBAT medic when we don't. Sheeesh

ok, make up your mind. is it combat? or is it medic?
oh! it's both! but in function, it is increasingly neither. and that is sad.
there is not a valid reason combat medics should not apply pre-combat medical treatments, and heal post combat injuries, any more than trying to make a case that docs should not heal states during combat. that is just someone's vision of how they think it should be. but that is not how it is. if you want your states healed, a doc has to do it. if you are on fire from a flame thrower, better have a doc in his white lab coat on the battlefield! would not be prudent to have a combat medic put out your fire! bah!
if you have lots of wounds, a doc is fastest in fixing them in combat or after.
and if you are getting ready for combat, there is nothing to say a combat medic should not be involved in that preparation.
and i will gain my money as i see fit, thanks. it would be great to be able to give poison resists, and one way may be for me to return to a doc/cm combo, which also is more lucrative. but saying that cm's should earn their money as non-cm's do is just silly. other master combat professions can do missions easily, but it is not as easy for CM to complete missions. docs have other things to offer to make money. not so combat medics. there is a basic inequity there. even our crafted items have such a narrow market, we cannot make a living there. the pre-battle poison and disease resist meds should be ours out of fairness, if not out of a pure sense of role-playing.
my personal vision for the profession is one where combat medics are far superior to docs in battlefield healing across the board, but not as good in wound healing and buffing before and after. but that is just not the reality of the game as it stands. i think we should be able to buff during combat to a limited extent, so those returning to the fray with now defunct buffs can get back into play. stims sort of accomplish that, but our battlefield healing is pretty underwhelming, really. we should be able to mitigate states, and apply antidotes to poison in the heat of battle. if we want to make it role appropriate, docs should not be in battle at all.
the problem i see over and over form non-combat medics is they want to make it a healing only class, which is clearly not the intent. at the same time, they want docs to be the superior battlefield healers, which is patently bogus. ifcm is a healing only class, it is not going to be the choice of some who have otherwise come to it, because it is clearly a sub-par healing class both on the battlefield and off.

I agree with this...we should not get innoculations...now the components for innoculations is another story......
we also should have the point blank (yeah right...when is 21m point blank?) cures..

Didn't you use to spell it combat MEDIC?
Ah yes... I believe you did.
One... or the other... you can't use both as arguments to keep us down.

Ok if we have no place applying any medicine pre-combat then doctor's have no place applying or even using medicine DURING combat.
They took the most gimp non-combatant profession and turned into the most needed prof. in the game in and out of combat.
Real life doctors dont apply innoculations. Thats what nurses, MEDICS, and CNA's do.
