Thread: What are your tactics for hunting krayts/small areas/pvp???

If someone could outline there tactics for hunting krayts, small areas say the DWB when fighting guys or against melee/ranged pvp chars. That would be awsome cause right now im confused on what to use in the CM skills because there is so many. Im MCM/MRM/??? lol im thinking of picking up 0004 in doctor for buffs but i dunno if i could get some suggestion on what to do with the rest of my points that would be awsome!! thanks alot

Krayts... electroylte drain and kite.


DWB, thyroid rupture the range NPCs and shock and get a Pistoleer or PIkeman to intimidate them


Those Doc buffs are great, but you have to know how to use them.

thanks alot badger but one thing i don't understand what you mean is when you say you need to know how to use the doctor buffs. How does that make sense because you just apply them to yourself and a way you go?

and also are the DOTS useful to use? or is it useful just to have 1 or 2 on or what? thanks!

speed buff


have to know when and when not to use it... makes you eat through action/mind faster and draw more agro


also whether or not buff is worht applying....



and dot's are great, just don't use them and expect to get a paralyze in

MCM/ MRM/ and Doc 0-0-0-4?


The MCM and the MRM are your combat components. The buffs are pre-combat support and don't help your offense in any way shape or form during combat. While its nice that you can buff yourself its also easy enough to get them from someone else.


If you're looking for something to help with high content PvE or general PvP I'd suggest one of 3 things.


Pistoleer 0/0/0/4- Improved stopping shot helps kite level 88 Krayts ALOT. The same goes for just about any other non-ranged NPC. In PvP it keeps the Jedi, melee templates, and pure template pistol users away from you and any of your buddies.


Doctor 2/2/0/0 - This is my template. Its dedicated more to PvP in general but the extra healing efficiency and bacta infusion come in very handy when taking damage npc's ormitigating the damageyour tank is taking. DoT's such as fire, poison, and bleeds are easily removed or lessened to the point of being a nuissance instead of a threat.


Doctor 4/0/0/0 - Pure healing. You maximize your efficiency while having an improved bacta infusion. Free's up your shirt slot allowing you to wear other BE defense mods instead of needing the medical ones. More support than offense but it also keeps you or your tank alive alot longer than most opponents. Improved Bacta Infusion is the best heal out of any other and not to be taken lightly.

Keorythe, i think you underestimate the effectivness of doctor buffs


while all content can be done without them they are a great asset if used correctly....


for instance, the 10 percent mind regen.... without it my mind would take longer to regen and i couldn't get off as many debuffs/dot's in a similar amount of time without sitting.... while in a 1on1 fight this is mitagatble unless you are paralyzing it is still effective... and same goes for action regen


as for my comment on the attack speed buff... what I ment was....


your cooldown timers are significintly faster... which means you will attack more often, and use up more mind/action depending on move


while this is helpfull you have to be mindfull of your bars...


but if you are more interested in PvP i suguest going with one of Keorythe's templets to finish it off... while the buff's help in group content, and to a lesser extent solo content, in PvP mainly usefull for group PvP...



And i'm gonna try an afformentioned and proven technique for soloing krayts/gorax.... snare and kite


on an Ancient Krayt tonight..... easily done all the other krayt's and the gorax..... figured out what was holding me up when i tried before

As the previous poster mentioned, if you are not geared to use doctor buffs, particularly the adrenal boost then you will spam away your action in combat.


If you are geared to use them, meaning that you use low SAC weapons with SAC reduction powerups called "reinforced stocks" then you can shoot at pretty much the CU "speedcap" with minimal action drain.


I have found myself in the situation where I can use adrenal buff as a grief tool, but not delibereately. I solo ancient krayts quite often looking for tissues for more guns, and saw a rifleman soloing an ancient with ranged arms, stopping shot and knee cap.


I buffed him with adrenal boost amongst the other buffs, just to be helpful, but he spammed all his action away and moaned at me because of it.


In the right hands, that buff completely negates the need for any speed mods and is extremely powerful.


With my reinforced stock powered up 47 SAC, 930 Max damage FW FWG5 I can do bodyshot and quickdraw every three seconds for a minute and a half with Doc buffs, thats a lot of damage.

thanks alot guys for your advice im gonna try the 0004 thing in doctor to start off with because my rifle is 85 SAC 2.7 speed so the adrenal buff would be effective i think for me if i use a SAC powerup on my rifle.

In PvP i find sticking haemorrage on them then when they burn out their SAC knocking them down with the KD from marksmen cant remember what its called though . But this leaves them stuck on the ground without the action to use KD recover for up to 15-20 seconds in which time its fairly easy to incap them

I feel silly asking but new to combat medic.. on kratys and such seems the range is very small how do you apply it and not get the big attack i hear about. and a side note what was that food that give a bonus to accuarcy?

You run up to them while spamming the paralyze button until it sticks. You'll have to risk getting hit once unless you have a friend who can draw the leezurd's attention from you.
