Thread: Some Q and A on upcomming changes
Q) Will the change to the decay resistance on reactive gas have any effect on my stockpile
A) no, and you will probably not see a change to the gases in world at the time of the patch, only the new gases cycled in after the patch.
Q) Will the change to the components effect my current supply of meds or my schematics?
A) again no, only new components created will use the new attributes and only the meds made with the new components will be effected.
Q) Should I be able to poison corpses and incapped players?
A) NO, both incapped and dead players should always resist your poison and disease, If this is not the case then it is a bug and please inform me of the type of poison used, potency, and effectiveness
Q) Are ALL the Cm components going to use Decay resistance and Overall Quality?
A) don't have an answer at this time sorry

A) All CM Components use DR and OQ for determining the effectivness
forgot to add this one
Q) I have heard rumors that CM poisons are going to take a 75% reduction for PvP, is this true
- A) This is 100% garbage, there is no reduction to the PvP poison damage
Q) Will poisons still cause an incap in PvP battles with the new patch
- A) No, poisons will only do enough damage to bring the target to +1 of the HAM
Q) Does the poison Stop ticking or is it put on Delay when the target reaches +1 on the HAM
- A) The poison will continue to tick as normal
Q) Is the target allowed to regen health as normal while it is poisoned
- A) yes, in my experiment the target would regen about 45 health points between ticks of the poison.

What's the reason behind this change?

not 100% sure, an easy fix for the no loot problem for an all poison kill. With item decay it would be a new grief tool for CM's. Lower level animals now carry poison and diseases and they wanted to give the noob a break. your guess is as good as mine.
Like I said in one of the many other threads on that subjuect, you may want to check back on some of the threads I posted several weeks back. Probably 3 weeks ago, dealing with some folks complaining (as they all do) about the never-ending poison, because of the 4 mintue delay on incap thing. Where I offered that no-incap suggestion as a possible fix, but was asking for other ideas. I got a few and was also asking for reasons folks thought it would be a BAD thing. (Other than the reason that some people just hate change.)
I passed all of that info along to our Dev, because he asked about it.
I did mention that the no-incap thing would actaully be a kludge fix to the loot problem and such, but that was not the primary reason. And I seriously doubt the decay thing was the reason etiher, but I don;t know since it was never mentioned. IN all if you want to blame somebody for the idea for it, blame me, I guess.
Maybe it was just the easiest fix for all the grief complaints that he could impliment, or at least wanted to impliment.
It would be nice if he provided some further input on the matter, but we're not seeing much of him these days. He's probably sick of us correspondents beating on him all the time. ![]()

Its kind of funny, by preventing poison from incapacitating players, they've sort of increased the relative usefulness of disease... well, relative to poison, at least disease will do lasting damage (unless they're friend duels and deathblows them as soon as it is applied).
Just look at it this way. Now they'll live long enough to enjoy the disease. However, I still have my concerns about that +1 HAM during PvP, it greatly diminishes the capability of CM dueto the fact that the enemy have the opportunity to meditate out of the poison after they incap and DB you.
This will greatly affect the Combat Medic's ability and make TKM/MD hybrid much more unbalanced than before. And given the amount of skill points CM has invested in the profession, it's ludicrous to have to rely on my weapon to finish off the other player.
Hm.. seems kind of ludicrous to me to not realy on your wepaon to deliver a killing blow. I mean what did we have to take Ranged Weapon Support for if we weren't expected to be able to at least miniamally use a weapon. And 1 hp is pretty darned minimal. Besides is there ever a time when you don't have a weapon in hand when you are tossing your poisons? I mean why not shoot and poison at the same time when something is aggro on you, in PvE or PvP?
I haven't seen this thing in action yet, but I'm just having a tough time seeing how this is such a terrible thing at the moment. Not to say that I think it's a GOOD thing, mind you. I haven't tested it to form a complete opinion yet.
