Heres a quick overview of the skills with positives (+) and negatives (-) and neutrals (N):
CM - Thyroid Rupture
requires 14 skill points to get (-)
2 mins (+)
-40 combat speed
10m range (-)
massive mind cost (-)
Smuggler - Low Blow
~30 secs (N)
- 40 combat speed
up to 65m range (+x5)
acceptable cost, which hits ACTION (+x100)
Pikeman - Warcry
~30 secs (N)
-40 combat speed
10m range (N)
acceptable cost, which hits ACTION (+x100)
ok, so you can obviously see, our thyroid rupture is much worse off then the others. But the jedi and nerf criers are too narrow-minded to see this. We put ourselves in dangerous postitions, destroy our mind (which is needed to heal the dmg we took when getting that close) and have to spend 14 skill points to do so.
does the 2 min timer actually make much of a difference? NO
they can all be reapllied when their timer is up, and if it is actually as overpowered as they make it sound, then we will be keeping it on. But a reduced timer to around 30 seconds for us would make our entire healing line pointless as the mind costs are insane. (remember mind regens much slower than action, even with the same #'s asa action regen)
so I am here to give all the whiners a deal, and would like to know if my fellow CM's agree.....
1. reduce thyroid's timer down to 30-40 seconds
2. SIGNIFICANTLY reduce mind costs
3. give it a 35m throw range
this way, both sides can have their cake and eat it too. plus, this will make them all go after smugglers (again) and leave us alone... until they lsoe to one of our kind again

LOL...... All I have to say is no compromise.... thyroid rupture is fine as it is! I went to the BH forums and looked at the thread on feedback on missions and only like 5-10 people out of 50+ was MCM MBH.... most people were CM4000 dabblers! You can't nerf ourdebuff without nerfing everyone else's, plain and simple. It is not fair, there are more ways to avoid Thyroid Rupture than Low Blow, and even pikeman get only action cost and have better defenses than us.
What all the Jedi need to cry about is getting the KD Recovery bug fixed because the devs only seem to cater to them..... say something like "I lost to a BH because of the KD bug, it should be fixed," LOL and a hotfix will be out in 3 days to fix it.
Your saying that beacause it costs 14 skillpoints & uses up mind makes it is "much worse off then the others?" Hardly a strong argument.
It destroys our mind? you've got to be kidding me. to cost is minimal compared to what you get out of it. The debuff lasts for 2 minutes! Thats quite a long time.
Please stop volleying for solutions that aren't globally considered a problem.
In fact you take away that duration your going to have more problems on our end in combat.
It takes at least 5 seconds to apply the state and be able to apply another one (maybe a tad more)
in 1 paralyze I can get 2 debuffs and the occasional 1 DOT in.
Is it unbalanced to be the only prof that can debuff for that duration? depends on how you look at it. so Maybe.
My jedi doesn't think so but he does think his debuffs "forcewave" and the other debuffs jedi can apply are too short. I believe 15-30 secs or so.
The 2 minute timer makes a great difference. Lets see 30secs vs. 2 minutes. Uh that's what 300% 400% difference? Compare the action cost & time of special on the equivalent move from different profs to the time it lasts & the mindcost associated with the special in CM.
Your argument doesn't contain any valid points. I realize you may have posted this out of anger but step back take a deep breath and look at the root of the problem.
We all know that reasoning with people that are crying "nerf this that" is arduous at best.
I think the debuff is high and it lasts a long time but I can't Say it's an imbalance.
I haven't read the post on the jedi forums yet. However I think it's important to hear the problem (see their point), discuss and resolve it rationally.
This should actually be something that would be well handled by our moderators. from psionichawk to biacca to set the record straight.
See opinions are like aholes. everyone's got one. If we're to get all bent out of shape & react to 1 or even 20 people b/c they are calling for a nerf... well it doesn't really speak that well for us. What are they trying to say. lets get to the bottom of it or just drop it altogether and above all.. Stop whinning about whinners & reacting to their moves. lets move on & just have fun ingame.
My alt is a CM where I used to be. I am a jedi but typically don't participate in that forum for several reasons. I post more here because this forum has a chance.

If you dont like what cm skills do to you
Get a profession that can defeat them and or stay out of range.
Just because your build and you do realy bad against cm's does not mean its unbalanced.
If you want to alwase win and beat everything those games are single player im sorry.
I tested the -40 speed debuff. It cut attack speed by about 25% from my targets. This is balanced.
It VERY strongly seems that these Jedi are extremely protective of their speed from being debuffed such a small amount.
In my opinion, the Jedi armor break is a VERY STRONG debuff that supercedes the danger of a 25% reduction in speed.
If they are going to whine about such a small debuff, perhaps they should guard their ass about their armor break.

They are probably master defenders running aura. Only way to beat it is to have a well scoped weapon and lots of accuracy food. Luckily the new BH scopes dropping are going to make alot easier to land shots.

I personally don't care if my thyroid rupture is the most overpowered ability of all. When I use almost 40% of my mind in the first half of the battle due to the high mind cost of snare, rupture, poison, and disease I expect a good ROI.
I think Aurora is insane and overpowered, but I don't want to swing the nerf bat at them. I understand it's a timed buff that takes force - give a little to get a little.

You're not a CM are you? I can tell. Our heals take 10 - 12% of our mind depending on the heal we use. Most CMs will toss 2 states and 2 poisons leaving the mind at about 60%.
Granted, with the 4000 Healer your heals are slower, and not less mind draining but seriously stop whining. Our BEST heal is 1100 base. Yours is 1500 (assuming 4000 Healer).
So, no. I don't think b/c the speed buff (which you do when OUT OF COMBAT) was reduced that means out speed debuff (which is an ATTACK done IN COMBAT) should be reduced.
IN COMBAT... OUT OF COMBAT... see the difference? One is an attack not for the purpose of leveling the playing field when a Jedi is buffed.

ROFL, you give Jedi a bad name, because you whine and whine and can't even get your facts straight. Bacta Shot and Toss have a 10% mind cost and bacta spray has a 12% mind cost. Force Heal costs 9% of your mind and heals 1k to 1.5k healthand improved force infusion costs 12% but heals ~250 health every 4 secs for 48 secs.... thats a 3000 heal for only 12% mind costs!

Jedi mind cost for heals 10-15% and thats just healing we have LS mind costs and everything in Jedi costs some mind. We had our speed balanced from +25 to +20 and doc speed buffs got a nerf aswell
Don't you think that cause all things which add speed got nerfed why not lower things which decrease your speed. You can already heal better than a Jedi why should you be able to make a MLS hit at the same speed a novice Lightsaber?
